  1. Thanx! kinda scared me a bit. btw does anyone knows y this happens?
  2. I click on render i got the message Warning: Memory heap is reported damaged but my work is still rendering. what does this mean and most importantly is there sth ishould be worried about?
  3. no, i am not using depth of field. for those who are following this. I turned on sub-pixel mapping and the white dots disappeared! yay! oh and i didnt use vraylancsoz filter, coz it blurred the bricks. i went back to using catmull-rom AA filter. i will post the final render up here if anyone is interested.
  4. Ok thank you. i thought so. i think i will have a look at thier manual website
  5. i am asking a lot of questions, i know... but am a newbie.. okay here is the question. does vray lights automatically apply shadows to the objects on the scene? like direct light and so on, there is a drop down menu that lets you decide what sort of shadow you want (vray shadows, raytraced shadows... etc) i cant find that option for vray lights. so i went into the exclude menu and selected all the objects in my scene and set them to be illuminated and cast shadows... i want to know if i am doing the wrong thing here or if there is another method to do this. i hope i am making sense. thanks
  6. thanks velvetelvis... i will look at my lights and make sure all of them are casting shadows. al the lights r turned on, i did cheat a lil, it was too bright and i cheated and turn down the bright mult instead of tweaking the individual lights. here is an image before i turned on all the lights and increased the multiplier. the shadows r sharper, but the image just wasnt bright enough thank you so much velvetelvis for your help
  7. thanx, i will re-render with HSV exponential and also calibrate my monitor. thanx again for the response, i woulda sworn it looks dull, and not sharp at all.
  8. i posted the results of the gym i was rendering in my previous thread, but i hvnt gotten a reply... i dont know if i am to start a new thread for this or continue there... so when in doubt... do both :"> so the dots r gone, for those not following my saga :-D and here is the new render.. unfortunately, it looks washed out. everything is the same here (render settings) except these few changes: lanczos filter, size:2 subpixel mapping: on rQMC noise thresh: 0.01 bright mult: 1 everything else is still the same in the setting below and here is the render... it looks washed out, please any tips and if i am wrong to post a new thread... am awfully sorry, please dont ban me or sth dreadfull am begining to like it here
  9. sorry wrong image... that is the new render and this is the render setting CHANGED SETTINGS ARE: lancoz filter, size 2 sub pixel mapping: on rQMC noise filter: 0.01 bright mult: 1
  10. sth is wrong.... it isnt sharp enough... the render settings is still the same, but use lancoz filter for anitaliasing, sub pixel mapping is turned on, noise thrsh: .01 and set bright mult to 1.... sth is wrong with it.. please wat am i doing wrong? and this is the render setting with the corrections i stated above (for those who dont want to go back to the previous page to view the image) which is lancoz filter, size 2 sub pixel mapping: on rQMC noise filter: 0.01 bright mult: 1
  11. wat does that do? i dont have any ray traced shadows on my scene
  12. i did an crop render of the spotty areas, the dots r gone. am sorry i didnt reply immediately that were, i went out of town on business... anyways, am rendering the image again with the light multiplier turned down to 1. but the dark mult is still 2.35. i am currently working on the lights now, to tones things down. i really appreciate the help i got here. i will post the final image once it is rendered. thank you so very very much for you help. oh btw way... i used vraylanconze set to 2, and i turned on sub-pixel mapping and increased rQMC noise to 0.01 and the dots dissapeared. i will render the regions ot again with one by one, so i know wat caused the dots and post it here too. once more thanks for your help! CGarchitect rocks :-D
  13. thank you very much for the quick reply... am re-rendering now as i type this.
