  1. your render is reading like concrete, but if you're looking for a specific concrete pattern you need to have references like Scott said. Once you have a reference it will be easier to help you.
  2. I hoping that someone can help me with something. I trying to share files between max 2013 to 2014 and some of the geometry with a modifier tree will open with corrupted geometry. Does anyone know of a fix or script that will preserve the mod tree while keeping the geometry intact. Thank you in advance.
  3. I would suggest having someone do the modeling for you so that you can ensure the style is still yours since that is why the clients came to you in the first place. Next time that happens, let me know and I'll see if I can help you out.
  4. you can use growivy. if you isolate the objects you want the ivy to grow before you place the "gwivy" object you should get what you want.
  5. If you can't open any file then you may need to reinstall max 2012. if it's just the files from the disc, then I would save the files in '09 then merge into 2012 like Fran said.
  6. try placing a vraycolor into the opacity slot or set the IOR of the refraction to 1.01 this controls the amount that the material bends the light. If your material's reflection is set completely to black and it is still has reflections on it, then you might need to remake your material. At 100% black you shouldn't get any reflection no mater what the scene is doing.
  7. your line work may not be a closed spline. on the hollow ways make sure that all the verts are wielded and that you don't have a double line in the shape.
  8. The only thing I'd add to the comments above, instead of trying to use 3D plants try Photoshoping in some highres photo plants. do a little color adjustment on them and they'll look 1000X better them what you have.
  9. is it possible to render the fog out as a separate pass and then add a slight blur in photoshop?
  10. stellar job, looks beautiful even for a car park.
  11. did you try adding a smooth mod to your mesh and making sure that all of the vert. are all on the same plane?
  12. you a nice set of beautiful images here. The only things I could say are that you comcrete blocks seem a little flat and you might want enlarge your fire so that the top doesn't look like its getting cut off. other then that good job!
  13. Only 2 things I could say is that your bed really hard and that you might want to adjust the camera (just a little) so that you can see that the TV is the light source. But over it's a really beautiful image and those comments are just me being super critical.
  14. Just out of curiosity, what happens when you render it? the only thing I can think of at the moment is that you may not have the "Show Standard Map in Viewport" option on.
  15. Try adding a UVW map modifier to the object.
