  1. But can you share which technique did you use or settings or is it a bg secret
  2. What technique do you use to post poduct this renders , it look like some sort of vintage style . To be honest i love it.
  3. If you bing new pc try to buy good one that way it could serve you at least 1-2 years before ubgrade etc q9.... 6-8gb ram geforce 9800gt vista x64 good mother board and than max 2009 x64 vray 1.50 R3 autocad 2009 and you are ready to go ))) marry xmas )
  4. If you will use win xp and planning of buying 8GB ram you have to have xp x64 coz win xp x32 will anly see 3gb of RAM. x64 architecture is a bit faster and more advance. Programs like max, photoshop will benefit from it and will give you better performance etc. And with the question of choosing an operating system i just feel more comfortable using xp but that is just my preference, new vista OSs are more advanced but im fine with Xp and i dont see changing that. As far as i know you cant run max 9 x64 on vista but i could be wrong.
  5. I'm using max 9 x64 + vray 1.50 sp1 and it works fine but the stability depands mostly regarding what king of hardware you have ( ammount of RAM ... i have 8 GB and CPu i have Intel Q6600 ) is its decent configuration. As far as im concerned Vray warks only with Max and Cinema 4d. You can import files form autocad or solid geometry or cad lines and model it in max. With sketch up i dont know coz i dont use it at all.
  6. Exactly i was stunned when i saw that Open Gl is much more slower than D3D but as long as the fsp is smooth witth large scenes i dont care abut the driver performance and comfortable working in max are moste important for me now i can focus on polishing my visualizations to the highest level )) thx for all responses
  7. To be honest im impressed with the viewport performance with that card. with 7950 with a secene with something around 2-3 mln polygons fps was 0.4 with Open GL and it was driving me crazy . Now i've opened the same scene clone the objects 1-2 times the polygons count is about 10 mln and the vieport is smoth (smoth w higihlihts + edged faceded and adaptive degradation turned off ) but on Direct3d im realy happy that i have changed the card the difrrence is realy huge it was worth it for sure. I should have done it months ago..... cheers
  8. But there is one small problem i have only 450W PSU is it going to handle this configuration new gfx cards are power hungry and i already have configuration that takes a lot of power .....
  9. So since Jan 2007 i have a decent work station and im upgraading it since then. For now i have the folowing configuration : Assus P5W DH Deluxe Intel Core Quad 2.4 GHz ( not overcoloced ) 8 GB RAM ( 4 x 2GB Corsair Twin2X DDR2 800MHz CL5-5-5-18 ) Geforce 7950GT 2x250 GB Western Digital WD2500JS 7200 RPM HDD ---------------------------------------------------- SAMSUNG SYNCAMSTER 20" 205BW WIDE SCREEN Logitech Cordless Wave Desktop ( KEYBOARD + MOUSE ) -------------------------------------------------------- Win XP x64 ------------ So the main question is while using only 3ds Max 9 + vray + Photoshop CS4 for mainly architectural visualizations mainly stills Should i consider uprgading for example my gfx card i was thinking something about Quadro FX 570 or geforce 9800 GT When usiing Max and have about 2 mln polygons in my scene my FPS goes to 0.43 and its driving me crazy if i upgrade to one of the above gfx cards will my fresh rate will be faster or not ???? Should i overcloc my processor to get more from this quad but i dont want to damage it you know )) thx for any ideas
  10. I have te same task to do i want to model identical interiror from photo provided. Bu i'm having problems matching the camera What is better camera match vs user grid or matching by hand Is there any workflow ????
  11. I did try to render other scenes interiors and exteriors with high and low setting and also got crash ... i havechanged from dynamic memory to static and gave 3000 MB limit also incresed virtual memory to 9000GB i will test it and see how it goes
  12. Hello Lately im having problems with rendering my images. Im using max 9 x64 with sp2 and vray 1.5 SP1 i have q6600 +6GB RAM The problem is that max crashes while rendering some times during calculations some times in the begining of the rendering or even just in the middle. I didnt have this problems before since i didnt change antyhing didnt intall new software etc. I was playing with the system rollout in vray didnt helped. I have a small scene 500k polyogns and few proxies of trees .... is there any chance that proxies can cause the problem Im not runing out of ram for sure i'm monitoring that and when the crash happen i have 2GB left thx 4 any help mike
