  1. I have a question about door modifications in Bentley Architecture. I simply just want to modify the door swing other than having it at 90 degrees. I know this is a simple modification but i do not know why Bentley has this command so buried within its properties. I am running Bentley Architecture Version 08.09.04.33 Thanks, Adam
  2. Is this going to be implemented into Athens or a later version?
  3. I recently purchased Dosch 3d objects (Trees People Cars) which according to the website are compatible with Bentley Architecture. However, after importing as 3ds files and saving them as dgn there are some serious mapping issues with the leaves. I have tried just about every combination and scale to fix this however have not come up with a solution. I dont think that Bentley is capable of mapping these materials properly and I was wondering if anyone has been successful with these products in microstation. Thanks.
  4. Great animations. Interiors are amazing and i enjoy the plan to eye level perspective views.
  5. Sorry if this doesnt answer your question but it sounds like there are issues importing from autocad to max. What i would do which might be the easiest way not knowing a lot about max is to link to viz render inside autocad. Then open max and go to open file, make sure viz render is the file type and open that file you exported. I would try to apply your materials in max which would also be easiest and if they still are coming in a much larger scale you can do a scale modifier on the material to make it fit the object properly. Hope this helps and I understood your question properly.

    rpc 3d

There are Axyz People which are 3D. I purchased some from Dosch which can be manipulated for animations. They are however not as realistic as the 2D archvision RPC's.
  7. Which software are you exporting from?
  8. Hmm...under Environment Settings scroll to the bottom and left click and hold on the earth. Move the earth so that the location is in the light. This should fix your background problem. It should update the model as you move the earth around. Make sure under atmosphere the sun is checked.
  9. I could be wrong but our company was looking for a simliar book for 3D modeling and couldnt find anything helpful so we had to have people come in from bentley to train on the 3D modeling. It seems there are no books out at this time which go into depth on 3D modeling in Bentley. We also have both Jerry Flynn books on rendering and animation and i agree Vray is the way to go although ive been told that Athens (Bentleys new version coming out later this year) is suppose to have a much better rendering interface.
  10. What type are you using for the Environmental Settings? Imaged based? If so make sure Disable isnt turned on for the background.
  11. I am in a similar situation being a student and having used ADT for 4 years now. However, Ive been forced to use MS due to work. Truthfully I am not a big fan of it as I am of revit or ADT. Maybe I am just more use to ADT but MS seems to be restrictive or limited in certain areas as far as modeling complex shapes and rendering.
  12. I agree with you on microstation and the toolbars. The quick and easy way to fix this and reduce the amount of space the toolbars take up is to right click on the toolbar itself then go to list. From the list check which tools you use the most and uncheck anyones you dont use. Therefore you will get more space on the screen and its not clustered. As far as setting up the custom interface so you can move from computer to computer is possible but is more complicated. I know at my work we have created our own toolbars and pull down menus which meet our companies needs. I could ask our tech guy to find out how to do this but i recommend just unchecking all tools you dont use.
  13. Looks great! How did you give it the sketchy look? What filter if any did you use in ps? thanks
  14. Thats what i figured, thanks a lot.
