  1. Hi there, is there a manner to put clouds in Maxwell's physical sky (other than putting a semi-transparent cloud texture in a plane in the sky, or adding them later with photoshop)? Thx in advance
  2. Thx guys. I also figured out that, if I use a darker version of my texture, it ends up with the tone want.
  3. Thank you for the answers. As for sending the images to the render engine separately, this is not possible; they have to be sent in sequence, due to the enormous time they take to render... Gosh, I never imagined that to do simple things in Maxwell such as setting up the light intensity and image sequence rendering would be so complicated...
  4. Hi there, I need to render 6 frames in order to create a cubic Quicktime VR movie, and I need 3DS Max to save them as .jpg files. However, when I use Maxwell, all the frames are overwritten! I mean, in all 6 rendered frames, max sends the same image name to Maxwell, and I get 6 identic names in the "image" feld, in the render output settings... what do I need to do in order to have all six frames saved as jpg files, and not only the last one? Thx in advance
  5. Hi there, is there any way to diminish the sunlight intensity in Maxwell's physical sky settings? My image is saturated due to the sun being too bright... Thx in advance
  6. I mean, all I have is a text field which reads "additional MXCL flags". By executing "mxcl.exe" on DOS, I got that "-v:XXX" is used to set the vignetting value. I'll try that, and post the result here. Thx again
  7. Do you know where is that option in the 3DS Max plugin? In order to create a QTVR movie, I have to use Max, and I couldn't find the vignetting control on it... Thx again
  8. Hi there. Thanks a lot for you help guys, but I'm facing a last problem with Maxwell... I am supposed to make a quicktime VR movie with my model (something like a 360 degrees movie, made from 6 rendered images, projecting the model in a cube centered at the camera position). However, all the images rendered with Maxwell have their corners darker than the whole image, so I got a very ugly match band effect in my movie... In the image below, you can see a snapshot of the movie, where the three images of the top corner of the cube **should** be transparently blended. Any idea? Thx in advance.
  9. Thanks a lot. I didn't know that.
  10. Hi there, my question is about lights with the Maxwell render... does it have some special light I need to use? I can explain: I am using a photometric IES sun to light my scene. However, since inside my model is too dark, I tried to put some standard omni lights (or other photometric lights) inside it, but maxwell does NOT use these new lights when calculating the scene illumination... Anything I might be doing wrong? Thx, Tiago
  11. Actually, if I attach all my objects in a single, huge one, I can render my model... What a deception... never thought Maxwell render could be so stupid...
  12. I switched all materials by a Maxwell material, and I still get stuck when reading the MXS info... It's not my PC, because I've tested it in two different ones, and I'm sure it's not a problem in the model, since I can render it with both Brazil r/s and Vray... I can also render each layer separately with Maxell, but not more than two layers at the same time (I tried to put the entire model in a single layer, but it didn't work either)... So it must be some peculiarity with Maxwell and the type of meshes it can render... Any other idea? Thx in advance
  13. Hi there. I am using Maxwell to render a building interior. All worked perfectly, until I get a more detailed version of the building. With this new version, Maxwell simply won't render at all... it gets stuck when reading the MSX information, right in the beginning, when it opens the "Maxwell render" window. I am using 3DS Max's Standard material, and the model itself has only 5 mega. The Maxwell version is the 1.6.6. Do you know what's happening? I mean, I can render the same mesh in the same conditions with both Vray and Brazil r/s... Has Maxwell some restrictions to the type of mesh it can render? Any help is very welcome. Thanks in advance, Tiago
