1. Studio/Institution: VirtualGFX Genre: Institution Software: Modo501 Description: This is small project that I just finished for a fundraiser. It is a gym locker room for a Greek Catholic school in Chicago IL. Modo 501, CADbuddy and Photoshop were used in the completion of this project. I hope that you like it. -E
2. Great work! The trees look very nice. I'm happy that you were able to use some of the tips from my Onyxtree to Modo thread. Thanks for sharing and congrats!
3. When you import the LWO file into Modo, the file is translated with polygons assigned to their corresponding tree parts. In the shader tree, you should be able to see materials per every tree part. Use these materials to make selections using the material selection tool. Then reassign the polygons to the material that you want to use for that specific tree part. So if you want to have a branch without leaves then assign that branch to the "trunk" or "bark" material in your shader tree. I hope it helps. -E
4. I'm glad to know that you have found the workflow useful. Let me know if you have any questions. -E
5. Thanks for the comments; I have updated the rendering. The sun angle changed to help illustrate the vertical reveals and people were added for scale. Here a screen grab of the scene in Modo:
6. Thanks for the comments Abdullah. I agree about the black horizon; I went ahead and replaced it with a better tree line. I hope it looks better now. -E
7. Studio/Institution: N/A Client: Kohl's Genre: Commercial Exterior Software: Modo 501 Description: This is my latest work for Kohl's. The client wanted to see the paneling system as close as possible to the actual installation on site. Modo 501, CADbuddy, Onyxtree and Photoshop were used in the completion of this piece. Thanks, -E
8. Thanks Paul This is the proposed remodel for this store. Here is the 2D illustration showing the existing and proposed elevations for this project: I will be in NYC next month for Thanksgiving; I can't wait -E
9. Thanks a lot for the comments. John is right, the planters have a recessed toekick; they are not floating. Yes, this is a Casco one Here is another view and a screen grab of the scene: -E
10. Studio/Institution: N/A Client: Kohl's Genre: Commercial Exterior Software: Modo 501 Description: This project was particularly challenging. The client had a hard time choosing one design scheme; we developed 10 different design options. Working with Modo and CADBuddy really helped me speed up all design changes down to a couple of hours per option. Modo 501, CADBuddy, Onyxtree and Photoshop.
11. Hi Gary, I was not responsible for the architectural design. However, maybe the entrance would benefit from a little bit more structural work and detailing. I think that this design is very prototypical to Brunswick and it has been approved by the client for construction. Thanks, -E
12. There were two renderings generated for this project. One for the city of Colorado Springs showing all the landscaping (Landscape as main focal point for city approval) and another for the developer for use at the construction site (Building as main focal point without landscaping blocking the view). I have posted both version in this thread. Thanks for your comment. -E
