  1. Jeff, briefly, stand up for your idea! It looks totaly fine to me. Short and clear. The major difference is now settled. Commercial or non-commercial work. This is the big difference. Normally commercial work done in extreme stress for 3 days or a week is helpless when it stands upon the 3 months spare time promo projects. Wish you successful 2012 !
  2. You really made me laught Honestly and positive Seriously: The right workaround is to find an image on the net (free or stock) and match it in the render. Normaly you have 4-8 hours hard work in post production per 1 image if you want to make something memorable. Sincerely,

Studio/Institution: REDVERTEX Client: AI+P Genre: Residential Exterior Software: Max2008, Vray 1.5, PhotoShop Website: http://www.red-vertex.com Description: We've been commissioned by the german architectural studio AI+P to visualize a set of 4 typical houses for a commercial sales catalogue. 7. IMO, whatever you do in PS, this image will be always flat and somehowboring. You need 3 vital steps to improve it dramaticaly. 1. change camera angle - wide lense, lower and closer to the right hand side 2. change the light direction. This is vital! You don't have shadows. Shadows are the most important if you want to feel the volumes and depth. Some part of the terrace should be in shadow. 3. PS work - highlights warm, shadows cold. In some cases ZDepth channel also helps. But at the end this is just my personal opinion. Sincerely,
  8. Here is one different opinion. The fastest machines - render nodes. Q6600 for WS, i7 for RN. My advice - overclock your machines for 30% better performance.
  9. The comments gone to a really interesting direction. I have heard about those paranoic fears of stolen designs. It is more likelly popular in the Asia and UAE area. This case was not like that. We are a team of architects. We just want from time to time to improve ourselves in archuitectural design. So from time to time we DO design. For that particular compatition, we do not have a client which project to visualize. We created our own design and we participate with our own name. There is NO conflict of interests ... and blah-blah .. etc ... We are graduated architects so it is normal to DO design and not only renders Sincerely,
  10. This was our 1st major architectural competition entry. The scope of works was about a multi-functional complex emphasizing on a 5-star hotel. All of the design was made inhouse in the studio for 1 month. Then we had 2 weeks to prepare the visualizations, colored plans, schemes and finaly the presentation boards. Original resolution 4000x2250 So, this is the 1st time we expose not only 3D visuals, but also a design. 3DSmax2008, Vray 1.5 SP4a, PS http://files.red-vertex.com/post/orthodox/Yerevan_1.jpg http://files.red-vertex.com/post/orthodox/Yerevan_2.jpg http://files.red-vertex.com/post/orthodox/Yerevan_3.jpg http://files.red-vertex.com/post/orthodox/Yerevan_4.jpg
  11. camera correction is good idea for such a "box" project. The problem is that the camera lens is too wide. It looks like 10-14mm. Just try with 18-20mm and then apply the CC modifier. Some additional detail will give better feeling.

  13. The same problem still stands. Architectural Desktop 2007 ==> 3DSmax2008 ... missing Object Enabler. nothing for MAX2008 on www.autodesk.com/oe Any idea ?
  14. Brian, It is not what I prefere. It is about cameraman techniques and shooting principles. 1. slow motion 2. constant speed. 3. for interior cameras - 3-6sec. lenght 4. steady cameras - animated elements in the scene - light, DOF, etc. 5. chenges from midrange camera, to closeups ... etc. You can see all this elements in the movies of: Alex Roman, Uniform, The Neighbourhood, Neoscape
  15. At last the video is on VIMEO Nominee for Best Communication Film at IMAGINA 2010 here is the link: I have tried the puppet module in AE, but still no good results.
