1. Hello everyone, I rather post it here than create a new thread. I am working with the VrayLensEffects and I only get to see it if I disable the Vray Frame Buffer and I use 3ds max native one. I have searched all over the internet and tried looking into the parameters but I just cannot get it done. I don't know what is the problem. Thanks for your help.
2. As Juan did, I disabled textures one by one but in complex scenes is not an effective way to find the problem. I did play with the dynamic memory limit, I changed the quality and size of the images, the format to jpeg and never managed to solve it. I even laid on the "merge the geometry into a completely new scene" technique and nothing. Up today remains an unsolved mystery for me. Luckily only happened with that project and it has not repeated... so far.
3. I have read through several forums and I made sure I am not working on low priority. As I said, it only happens when I assign materials.
4. Good morning everyone, I am sure there are people around having the same issue as me. I have noticed in a recent project that vray uses 100% CPU power when doing a rendering with override material enabled. However, when the render with the same settings is run, the CPU consumption oscillates between 40 and 60%, never reaching 100% during any part of the rendering process. It actually seems to me the speed is related with the materials. I await for your comments and I hope any of you helps to solve this problem and optimize the use of my resources.

6. You can add a custom background if you drag the MR Physical Sky from the environment to the material editor, then put a bitmap on it and boost its output. This is most suitable for exteriors when you need to look around. I prefer photoshop though
7. Why you just render the vray extra texture and the vray raw lighting too, and then you combine them on photoshop
8. Hello Victor and Tony. I disagree in the fact the Daylight is only for animations, the MR Photographic exposure control is powerful. Although I am just an amateur in 3d stuff I consider Daylight gives good results. Let's go back to the question. In a interior daylight scene. Just put a plane outside the window, apply an Arch&Design material with the bitmap on the Self Illumination slot and boost its multiplier, 10,000 or even more, just try. You need to do this for compensate the strength of the MrSun. On the plane properties disable both cast and receive shadows, and also disable FG and Global Illumination calculations. Hope I helped you.
9. First copy all the maps, I'd say even the model, to your main folder, where you have your scene, then merge it.
10. It wouldn't matter really, I thought on the possibility when I saw a model of OnyxBroadleaf, because certain parts could be splines in order to save a lot of polygons, but there is not a way to do that on the Onyx app.
11. Hello. I'd like to ask you if you know, or if is there any way in 3ds max to obtain the splines on the centers of these cylinders, I mean, one spline on the center of each one. I know the create shape from edges technique, but I am looking for something that allow me create the spline on the core of the geometry. Let's suppose we have one million of these cylinders, and, in order to save polygons we want convert them to rendereable splines. How could I do that? I hope I make myself clear. Thanks. Help please

I tried with AO and the change was obvious. Nevertheless I believe it isn't good enough yet.

Help please

Hello, I never worked with vray before, but I decided to start. I made a simple scene with vray sun and global ilumination in order to practice over and over again. For me the scene still dark and redish, but that's not my point. The first problem I'd like you help me with is the fact I don't know how to achieve more detail on the geometry. On the top of the wall I have a molding that I made, but is hardly visible. On the other hand, I tried vrayvisplacementmod, I read some about it and I applied it to my wall, but is clear I couldn't do right. The render with displacement took about 25 minutes, and the no displacement render only five minutes. I attached the images, and I expect you can help me, I sure you will, since some of you are real masters on this stuff. Thanks in advance. 15. I think you have to change the reuse of FG from incrementally add points to read only
