  1. Thanks to all that provided feedback. I will post the update soon. Appreciate your comments. Any more comments most welcome. Be brutal!
  2. Studio/Institution: na Genre: Residential Exterior Software: 3ds max / vray Description: Hi, I would like to create an image of a house which looks as photo realistic as possible. I am using 3ds Max with Vray. I have used a HDRI as the light source. I would love to get some feedback on how I might be able to improve this and make it more realistic. The house walls are rendered white but difficult to see (any ideas on how to make this pop). The house is newly built too. Let me know if you require additional information. Thank you.
  3. I am having difficulties getting MultiTexture plugin from CG-Source to work properly. MultiTexture is a plugin for Max that loads multiple textures and assigns them randomly either by object or material ID. I recently had 3ds max 2011 32bit installed and managed to get in partially working. I was able to get the plugin to display in the material/map browser but for some reason when selecting all my texture maps, it would only use the first texture map. I am now running 3ds max 2011 64bit and cant even get the plugin to display in the material/map browser. Are there issues with 2011 or is it a problem with the plugin in general? Does anyone know of any alternatives to this plugin? This would be perfect for my scene. Thank you in advance.
  4. Hi, I would like to create something similar to the below images. I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to the recommended methods in going about this? Thanks in advance.
  5. Try using video or soften for your antialiasing filter. Video can add roughly 20 percent to renders times but is recommended for animations.
  6. I've pumped the Adaptive DMC Image Sampler's max subdivs to 32 and it appears to have cleared the blotches up. I am using a HDRI in the GI Evironment (skylight) override slot. Will the blotchyness reduce once i place a vray light into my scene with sufficient samples? Thanks everyone for your comments.
  7. Here is a larger image. I have a green grass surface on the ground which appears to be reflecting up into the soffit, fascia and eaves but i would like to have it smoother. Also the iron roofing looses its profile on the side, i'm guessing this is an anti-aliasing issue but not sure what values to change. Thanks for looking into this for me. Cheers.
  8. Hi, im using VRAY to render a model house. I'm getting some unwanted blotchyness on the fascia and eaves. Please see my render settings from attached. I am using a HDRI map for the GI lighting only. Thanks
  9. excellent! quite odd because these look they are default values e.g. size=100% but now i have altered them to size=200% and they appear normal size. Thanks!
  10. Hi, my transform icon has some how shrunk. Does anyone know how i can enlarge it to its larger size? Please see attached. Thanks
  11. worked a charm! thankyou... I had to rotate the linework as i think the North/South/East/West ledgend in the attached image was slightly rotated. Cheers again
  12. Here is an update. I decided to go overcast as this is typically more english weather then bright and sunny. Any comments and critisisms?
  13. Hi, i am trying to draw up a lot to import the linework into 3D Max. I am playing around with a site plan but am having difficulties drawing this in AutoCad. When i enter in the degrees/minutes and length using the line tool my drawing looks nothing like the attached image. Do i need to alter my North/South/East/West? Any tutorials out there? I am very new to autocad so please bare with me. Cheers,
  14. I do have a bump map on the bricks but i agree with you in that they need to appear more 3-dimensional. I will increase the bump value. The pavement is the only part which has displacement (grouting indent). I'll get a material for this. Thanks so much for your comments. I shall post my changes shortly. Much appreciated. Cheers.
