  1. Hi all. I have loads (I mean a lot) of unused maps shown in the asset browser. I am positive they are not applied to any objects, nor are they in the material editor. What makes me even more sure is that when I complete a resource collection to add all used maps to a particular folder, the unused maps are not collected. Max 2015 / Vray 3.40.03 Thanks in advance.
  2. It's such complicated software. I despair that they have to release a new one every year. Just charge a bit more, release a version once every 3 years which is ACTUALLY an IMPROVEMENT and stop wasting our time Autodesk.
  3. Hi all. Weird issue with 3ds Max 2015. Curve Editor is totally blank. With / without objects selected. Must be a bug. Any ideas? Thank in advance.
  4. Hi there all. I think I've basically asked this in the title. I want to do a simple concept style flyaround, and don't want to model much in the distance. I thought using the sphere fade with a sphere gizmo would work nicely, but I still want a sky dome. Seems I can't exclude / include objects. Is there another way of doing this? SOLVED.
  6. Hi guys. This one's got me more stumped than ever. I have a scene (many rooms) with two types of light. square ceiling lights and wall-washers. I attach two images below. [with.jpg] is rendered with the other Vray IES lights (square) in other rooms in the scene. As you can see, having other lights in the scene is weirdly making my wall-washers dim and flat. [without.jpg] is when only the wall-washers are in the scene. Looks, you'll agree, correct. Also, the more square lights I unhide from the scene, the less bright the wallwashers get (????) No idea what to do. Thanks for advice in advance.
  7. Hi guys. Is there a way to create materials from the generic material palette (The colours created by default when you create any primitive)? You obviously cannot pipette these colours, however I have a very complex product model and all the colours are 'correct' - they just need to be changed to materials. Many thanks for help in advance.

  9. I am currently finding 3ds Max 2015 is ignoring either 'Active Time segment or 'Range' when selected as time outputs. It is simply rendering one frame as if 'Single' is selected. It's 100% a random glitch because the only way of getting it to render a sequence is to continually retry and retry until it 'decides' it wants to do it. Just wondered if this had happened to anyone else.
  10. Thanks for your response. I managed to get it working simply by restarting MAX. So it had to be a bug. I have all service packs installed as well.
  11. Ok - it's doing it randomly - sometimes it works - sometimes not - I can only assume this is a bug. Start / end time on vray render dialog shows 0 / 0. I'm totally stuck.
  12. Hi guys - really sorry if this has been answered, but I genuinely cannot find an answer, even on the official help files. Using MAX 15 / Vray 3 I am simply wanting to render a sequence through the frame buffer. If I tell 3ds Max to render 'range - 1 - 200', using the 3ds Max frame buffer it renders all, but if using the VFB, it calcs the LC and IRR map for the first frame and then stops. _________ Nope! It doesn't even work with the MAX frame buffer now - rendering 1 of 1 every time and it's definitely set to Range ?! eh!? what do I need to do? Thnaks for helping in advance.
  13. Hi guys - using MAX 2015. For some reason when I hit 'show end result' button, I have to hold it down (it doesn't toggle). Anyone else had this? Cheers.
  14. Question's in the title really - what on earth have they done with 'add objects to layer button? Not even the help file makes sense. Thanks.
