  1. Small update, haven't had much spare time but next week I hope to be more free.
  2. What happens if you've more buckets than pixels in the image?
  3. Hi Roye, No I'm not an Architect just a 3D Visualiser
  4. You're not wrong, the worst we have to contend with is permanent drizzle. Do get the odd hurricane though about once every 25 years or so.
  5. If having too many high res textures causes problems have 2 version 1 high 1 low with the same file name in different folders, work with the low res version but on final render swap the 2 folder contents.
  6. Studio/Institution: Personal Genre: Residential Exterior Software: 3DS Max Description: I've done walkthrough animations but never one that builds the house as well, a bit like the sort of thing you see on the Grand Designs TV Show so I thought it about time a gave it a shot in my spare time. The house will be in the style of the company Oakwrights In this first WIP I've constructed the Oak Frame, next task the brick walls.
  7. I thought I'd change my signature linking to my website it used to work but now I just get a 'BB code url is not allowed.' error?
  8. Might well be RAM not sure. The only time this happened to me was when I had a subsurface material on the marble floor I had used, long shot I know.
  9. Just what I was thinking but which one on a tight budget?
  10. You could try converting your bump map to a normal map, normal maps generally look better and you can convert a greyscale image to normal map with the free Nvidia Photoshop plugin, link below: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html
  11. That's really impressive, for a second there I'd thought you'd linked to the photo. Also It's reminding me of 'The Prisoner' and I'm starting to creep out!
  12. Depends on your goal. If your going for photorealism a small amount of DOF really helps, too much and it can look like a small scale model plus adding some grunge helps a lot here. But the all in focus super sharp and clean look can better show what the building will look like from a design point of view more like a diagram.
  13. You can still put a copy of the map in the regular environment slot and it'll show up as a background only.
  14. What I've been doing seems to work although not totally sure it's what your supposed to do is: Make the sun inactive plus put the hdri map in the map slot of the skylight parameters.
  15. I would model the shape then render a depth map from the top view result perfect displacement to recreate the model.
