  1. After 5 min experiencing a sketchup of one of my current designs, all I can say is that IRISVR is absolutely incredible. Even in this version it's working really well already. Some points I observed: - transparencies work really well, even better than in sketchup - smoothing groups don't come, actually, no smoothing - I couldn't find any loading options (I saw one video where you could load the model with or withoud textures - head tracking is smooth, even with a heavy-ish file (70mb) Sorry for the quick post, but I'm so excited I had to write something here! Later I'll spend more time on it.
  2. Please don't ask me how or why, but as I turned my PC on today and tried to launch the very same file, it worked perfectly! I swear I did nothing differently from last night! I had even rebooted several times. Go figure... Anyway, it's really amazing, thanks a lot and congratulations!
  3. I have just downloaded irisvr 0.1.5 and had no luck: the launch bottom doesn't do anything. I'm on win 8.1 and followed the instructions on the blog and still nothing. Hoping to see a new version soon!
  4. You can also use a vray wrapper to boost the gi received by the material. That's what I do in these situations.
  5. Well, after a long time struggling with the matter, today I accidentaly found out what was causing the problem: Lucid Virtu MVP, a bloatware that came with my mobo. Just disabled it and now everything is fine! Regards, LUCAS
  6. Hi everyone, I'm getting a strange situation here and hope you can help: I have installed 3ds max on a computer here in the office and it is only running either while logged in the built-in admin account or if I run the program as administrator (right-click > run as administrator) be it in a standard account OR an administrator account other than the built-in. What happens when I try to launch 3ds max is that a process (3dsmax.exe) is started and hangs with about 11.200k, with no warnings or errors whatsoever. Trying to find out what´s happening, I went to the local appdata 3dsmax folder and realized that the program can´t create the startup files: the folder structure is created up to the ENU folder, and then nothing else. If I run it as admin, though, the whole structure is created and the program runs normally. I tried to copy this structure to the analog standard user folder, but nothing happens. I also tried to mess with folder ownership and privileges, but everything seems ok, the user has - obviously - full access to the local appdata folder. I´m using windows 7 and I have to have UAC on and need to have Max working for a standard user with no admin privileges. My basic system specs: • Intel i5 2500k • Radeon HD7850 • 60gb Corsair SSD as cache disk on a 500gb standard disk • 16gb RAM Thank you very much.
