  1. I was all excited to get my 2016 suit. This is a Autocad, 3dsmaxdesign,Mudbox,Sketchbook designer suit when I bought it in 2013. It was a nice suit then. Last year they dropped Sketchbook designer. This year they have dropped Mudbox from it and are expecting me to pay the same subscription. This isn't cricket people.
  2. Make sure you get the Beta version of forest if you are using Vray 3.00.03.
  3. HQ plants have just released a new flowers pack I'm looking forward to using it this weekend. There are some nice Hydrangeas in it. These are good for adding colour with their big flower heads.
  4. This is my latest update of my training image. I have done the following. Bent the dog model so he looks at the camera. Fixed the vertical Rendered at a higher res. Moved the spade Pulled back the view a bit. This image is about 4 things. The house, the car, the dog and the vegetable garden. These elements equally interact to make the intended scene of a past moment. This is why I have chosen to leave the angle of the view as it is. The view is not about the house it is about a intimate moment. By showing more of the surroundings it looses that intimacy I'm after. I seem to be getting blocie noise in the shadows. What is the best place to look to fix that? the Hsph = 60 interp samples = 20 Also the image is not as sharp as I would like. But I think that is a DOFpro issue I need to work on.
  5. I will be doing some more work on this image over the weekend. I looked at some of Toms suggestions the other day, but I'm still not happy with the changed view. I'm also having trouble getting a good sky to look right and I need to do more work on the Vegetable garden. The soil is done with the Substance design pluggin. Is this a good tool for Architectual Vis? On the Boxer front. I assure you Taurus was one of the friendless dogs I have ever know. :-) Saddly he died when he was only 4 years. old of a heart attack. :-( Anyway I'm going to have a go at turning his head towards the camera. You are not the only one that has made that comment. This model of the boxer is so like Taurus it's spooky. I only had to do some minor tweaking of the neck as it was a bit long for him. The colours are identical to Taurus.
  6. Hi Tom, Thanks for the feed back. I will look into these issues. The only thing I wish to leave in is the dog. It is a very important part of the image, as this is a memory image from my youth. The time of day is early morning when the mist is down. What colour cast do think should it have? I really appreciate this kind feed back.
  7. I was hoping to get a few crits for this image. I was wondering if some one would give me a few suggestions on what needs improving. I'm thinking it is a bit dark , there is some kind of light issue on the wall by the building and the fog on the right hand side needs improvement. I'm learning this as a design tool as part of my concept presentation stage.
  8. Studio/Institution: personal Client: personal Genre: Residential Exterior Software: 3dsmax design 2012, Vary2, Photoshop, DOFpro, Autograss Description: This is an image of one of those personal happy moments in 1968 in New Zealand. It is supposed to be early morning in Taupo. This is a personal practise image. I'm new to using Vray so am trying to improve. This is my second image I have done using Vray and my first doing DOF and Fog. Themodel of the house and the site are made in sketchup. The trees and shrubs arefrom HQ plants. The vegetable plants are from Xfrog. The grass isautograss. The Boxer dog is from Turbosquid. Thecar is from Turbosquid. It is a Blender model that I had to do a lot of work toget it to look right in Max. I think it was conversion issues that cause themodel problems. I still need to do work on the rims. Ihave made the DOF in the image using DOFpro. The fog is done in post using theZ depth method. Anycomments and crits are most welcome.

    DOF noise

All is well. Got my activation info. Now if only I can sort the uploading image problem I'm having here this week. I have been trying to upload an image on the work in progress forum which won't accept my image like on this thread the other day.
  10. I'm having trouble uploading an image. Last week I uploaded 2 images with no problems. This week I can't seem to upload anything. Is there an limit on how much you can upload?

    DOF noise

Anyone had problems buying DOFpro. I paid for a copy 2 days ago and haven't heard back yet. I sent an Email asking what was going on and haven't had a reply.

    DOF noise

You learn something everyday. Looks like I do have a 32bit version of Photoshop 5. Must have loaded at the sametime as the 64bit version. So I'm waiting for the activation to come back from DOFpro to start using it. I can see this is a good way to go.

    DOF noise

I had a look at the DOFpro. Looks good, however the site says it won't work on a 64bit Photoshop. My one is 64 bit 5.5. Has this been upgraded to work? The 32 bit photoshop is an old Photoshop 7 . Will it work on that?

    DOF noise

I have made a practise image for DOF. The problem I'm having is that there is a lot of noise in the DOF. From what I gather from reading threads here is that it involves DOF and MAX subdiv. The question I have is what is the maximum subdivions I should use. I have a good computer with I7 990 3extreme processor. Quadro 4000 card and 24gig ram, so I can use a lot of power. I have tried to attach the test image but it won't upload. I'm using a Vray physical camera
