  1. Hey guys just a couple of images i've been working on recently. Any C&C are welcome Residential Units Playing around with DOF, I think it came out quite well. Residential Apartments Both images need people etc. but it's a start.
  2. Updated the Sky BG and faceting on the white roof. I still have the problem with the roof clashing with the BG image, the photoshop tips didn't seem to work. Also dropped the camera to 1.8m height.
  3. That's the method i use erickdt. It's a value that can be set in the import dialogue box.
  4. I'd model each row of bricks seperately i.e. 2 rows of textured then 1 row smooth and then stack them. If your using displacement it should cover any joins that might appear.
  5. mrucereto thanks for your reply. - I have since found a way to import CAD models into max to eliminate faceting (see the curved roof in the night scene). - I agree the reflections are wrong, it's because the people are opacity maps and appear the same on both sides of the plane, not sure how to fix this. - I'll give the remove black matte a go. - The camera was at eye level but my boss liked a more aerial view...not much i can do about it. Do you have any tips on making it more photo realistic? I feel i have a pretty good handle on max and vray...maybe its all in the materials?
  6. Hey guys, this is an exterior shot of a proposed council building in Australia. I'm pretty happy with the result, any C&C are welcome. 3ds Max & Vray. Day scene Night Scene
  7. cecofuli, the book arrived today, 1 week from purchase to delivery is fantastic. I must say i have ALOT of reading to do Thanks for your help.
  8. cecofuli, I have sent a email with my order number to 'vray_the_guide@treddi.com' please let me know if this address will reach you.
  9. Hi cecofuli, i was wondering if there's anyway to track a shipment to Australia? I was given an order number from treddi.com but no shipment information.
  10. Excellent News! Just put in my order from Australia.
  11. Thanks all for your replies. - now using a LWF workflow - have put a sky in, i think it works well - fixed alucobond from a matte colour - changed angle of the sun (i agree with what you said Brian) - people look better now Kyle - shaded square is an existing building, not sure if i should model it or not? - i agree the matte white and grey need texture but the problem is its hard to pick up detail with it being so far from the camera (i'll try a noise mod to give it texture) - vegitation is random but i guess from that angle it does look repetitive.
  12. I'm guessing you have a direct light outside coming in through the skylight? My tip is the multiplier is too high and light is leaking into the room. I can also see this where the light hits the vanity and floor (the light is very strong). I'd lower the direct light (or skylight) from outside and add an omni inside with shadows off. Make sure the omni size is greater than the size of the room.
  13. Hey Stanz thanks for the reply, - people are opacity maps on a plane, i agree the blacks look washed out - will edit in PS. - red car is a range rover i think? I might swap it with the black BMW. - i will hunt down a decent background that might add to the window reflects. Cheers!
  14. Hey guys, Been browsing this forum for a while now picking up tips here and there (forums are full of excellent info). I thought i'd post a WIP as i'm kinda stuck as to where to go next. Obviously furniture will help alot but i was wondering what you guys would change/add to the current image. I'm using Max & Vray with Phys cam/vray sun+sky. Any comments & crits are welcome
  15. The pool wall blocks look a little big to me.
