  1. the free version of sketchup will not allow you to export to any format
  2. These are my settings: as you can see everything look ok until it reaches the rendering stage. The image turns into black. I think I'm missing out on something but can't figure it out.
  3. These are my settings: F-stop = 8 Shutter Speed = 120 ISO = 100 vraysun is set as default shadow bias = 0.0 photon = 10 intensity mult = 1.0 size mult = 4 enable is ticked With these settings I think it wont come out as black.
  4. Can anyone help me on some vray settings. I'm using vraysun + vraycamera but my image comes out as black except background. Please see attached image. I'm using vray frame buffer and nothing is ticked. I also noticed that when using vraycam + sun my vraylightmat comes out as black not the usual white. Thanks in advance. Marlon
  5. No problems on my side. My PC is just over 6 mos with 2 gb of ram and an intel cpu of 1.8 core 2duo 6300. I even went to use 32 as my QMC max subd. But I do realized that sometimes if the 3d model is not done properly it sometimes contributes to the problem. At least thats what I encounter in the past.
  6. how do you move a vertex along a surface if your object is rotated at an angle? Is there a quick way to rotate the grid to follow the objects surface in order to move anything along a given surface? thanks
  7. hi roberto, i believe since version 5 of microstation(ms) it already has the capability to do visualizations using raytracing. but from what i read in the news over the last couple of years they are also trying to make it a capable renderer that can compete with the rest on top of microstation's superior modeling tools. check this site of what ms can do http://www.richardwoolsgrove.com/cad/pagePhotoCatList.php?pid=1&cat_id=14
  8. correction....escalator glass is on the left not on the right....which has a column refracted....
  9. need help on my vray glass settings..as you can see on the attached wip image the refraction of the escalator glass as weel as all the glass present on the scene has a funny refraction one very obvious is the column on the right refracted on the glass... i used a single plane object for all glazings present..can anyone shed light on this...thanks
  10. hi ryan i myself is a microstation user for 15 years. and currently using autocad in my office. one thing that u need to be aware of when modelling in autocad make use that u dont use to much solids in autocad as this will be very heavy when exported to max/viz. imho 3d in ms is still easier than autocad especially with the use of accudraw (not sure in acad 2007) though. ofcourse u still need a separate software to have a decent rendering when using acad compared to ms. it gets getting use to especially with commands familiarisation but it can be done since the principle of 3d is basically the same in most cases. for vue to max there is a software of vue clled vue xstream i think which is a plugin for max that u can use to be able to edit and create vue environments in max dont know about viz. hope this helps. marlon
