  1. stock cooling will enough for 3ghz. below is vray forum benchmark post. qx6700 overclock to 3.3ghz vray testing result. Core 2 6400 @3,33 = 4:42 Core 2 QX6700 @2,66 = 2:52 Core 2 QX6700 @3,33 = 2:15 Opteron 285 = 3:20 Opteron 275 = 3:58 http://www.chaosgroup.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17726&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=benchmark&start=50
  2. both motherboard is giga p965-ds3, cooling tt bigwater.
  3. of cause,my 1st core 2 duo e6300 is running at 3,3hz, another e 6400 runing at 3.6hz. before i bought e6600,but i fund it's 3d rendering performance(vray,mr,max) is same as e6300 at same clock. so i sold it and get a e6400 back and saved a bit cash. http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=100205&highlight=q6700
  4. i suggest you buy e6300 or 6400, because it's 3d rendering performance same as e6600. able to clock to 3.3-3.6ghz easyly.(e6600's 2mb extra cache seems no use) another option is buy a q6x00 and overclock it(to 3.xghz), although the processor price is expensive. but you can save money in motherboard and ram. because intel 975 mother board is much cheaper than dual xeon woodcrest motherboard,ddr2 ram is cheaper than ecc ram. and after overcock.you can get 2times speed than a dual woodcrest workstation. hope this can help you.good luck
  5. i think you can download a trail version bricscad http://www.bricscad.com install and use "save as" to convert your file to any other autocad version dwg
