  1. Just like the others said already, if you want to carry on becoming an architect then you should learn it. Many companies in the UK ie: big supermarkets, many projects in public and private sectors will not employ you to design and build their projects unless you use Revit. It seems to be going more and more in that direction...
  2. Hi it could be number of things causing this. I don't use ADT so I will have to guess. In your mesh select vertices option - select all (ctrl+a) - scroll down to Weld option and put approrpiate number and click weld. - this will help the terrain object to get rid off two vertices sharing one position. Then click the element mesh option and scroll down to smoothing groups. There check if all faces are sharing one smoothing group, ie one number. If not click clear all and then click on a number to give them all the same smoothing group... let me know if this helps, if not post the file... jana
  3. Hi, just a thought, have you applied a UVWmap to the other tho objects? jana
  4. Thank you for comming back. I can't find anything in the exposure settings that would allow me to do this. Well I'll keep searching, but if you get your hands on that model or if you remember what needs to be done I would appreciate if you could let me know. Thank you again, jana
  5. Hi Michael, thank you for your reply. It is your animation I was refering to - sorry for the confusion. The question I am try to ask is how do you render an image with the Analysis Colour Coding on top of the image. I can get the colour coding displayed in my viewport but if I save the image I only get the LX values (not the colours) on top of rendered image... Thank you jana
  6. Hi Timothy, I realy like your animation. Can I ask how did you put it together? Is there a way to animate and record the Analysis value Colour Coding?
  7. Thank you Justin for coming back. IT should be installing max 9 sometimes next week...if not I'll be back on their backs - nagging... jana
  8. OK I think I know what the problem is. In Max8 FG is view dependant, so even if I save it to a map it'll still calcuate on every frame if camera is moving. However, it adds it's calcuations to the pre-existing map, and it references that map before a new calculation. So more frames = less FG/frame time. Hope this helps
  9. Hi there, I am having the same problem, the server is re_calculating FG when using network rendering. I am still on max 8 (we do have four of max9 licenses but IT are taking time with installing it) and I've tried everything you suggested in this thread: calculating FG for the firts frame - saving it on network, unchecking RE_build option , checking use file and locating saved FGm on the network, in the explorer right clicking on the FGm file, going to Properties and in General in Attributes checking Read only option. After all this Server is still calculating FG.... I don't know what else to do.. As far as I can see the only thing you've mentioned was the "read/write option enabled" which Max8 does not seem to have. Could it be why the FG is re-calculated every time? If I don't use network render and I save the FGm and tick use file, the second time I render the same scene it skips FG calculations and jumps straight to Rendering.. Thank you, jana
