  1. Hi, i just noticed there are 4 new entries in the news which are actualy gallery images. I think it would be useful to find a way to make sure entries are posted where they belong. Jan.
  2. The animation of the bedroom is available at http://www.plus421.com
  3. Hi all, Another image of the Mendelsohn project this time the exterior. A short animation of the bedroom interior on the top floor is available at www.plus421.com Feedback is greatly appreciated. Thx.
  4. thx all for the comments, youre right about the BG image the sun possition doesnt match. although its not a valid excuse we simply had only this one photo that the client provided, but we thought having the sun in a different possition would benefit the image so thats how the missmatch happened. baker1444: thats not a reflection but a refraction - the view to the outside as seen through a semitransparent curtain.
  5. a few suggestions you might try: 1. add some AO - ambient occlusion - e.g. in a form of vray dirt if youre rendering with vray, it will help differenciate the individual steps and give them depth. 2. try playing with the sun possition - e.g lower it so you get more contrast in the scene. 3. if it is a still image id go for photoshopped palms rather than onyx, and if you want to stick to onyx, try making your own material for them and shading them yourself rather than using the built in vertex paint material.
  6. try also digital fusion from eyeon. node based and very easy to learn the basics if you follow the videos on their website
  7. Hi all, This is an interior visualisation for a project called Mendelsohn, designed by AK2 architects and ispired by Erich Mendelsohn - an architect of the first half of the 20th century. Tools used are standard : Max, vray, photoshop. The animation is available at http://www.plus421.com Larger image link here. Comments and critiques most welcome. Thx.
  8. Well, most people do it by the eye, just trying and testing until it looks about right. But if you want to be precise theres and option in 3ds max - look for the "use real world dimenstions" in UWV map modifier, and also in the texture tiling options in the material editor. Then all you have to do is estimate how big the pattern you created is in reality and put those numbers in for size in tiling.
  9. You're right Frank, we and also the client were aware of that, but decided to go with the pattern cutting to show the elevations and dents emphasizing the shape of the terrain so that it "reads" better.
  10. Hi

    Thankyou for your reply...

do you have any email id...

would like to talk to you.

  11. Dont try it with maxwell render you'd need a hundred times more computers to get it done on time its past tuesday, hope you managed to get it done on time. can we see the result ? maybe its too late to adivise now, but i saw some overbright areas in your preview image. Such bright light in the scene can also cause slower rendertimes as vray has to calculate with much more light bouncing in the scene. if you still struggle with low renderpower let me know maybe i can free up our renderfarm and help out if you send a few fish&chips over as well
  12. Hi everybody, We would like to share some frames from a golf course animation we finished. Altogether 6 minutes of animation. Tools used were 3Dsmax, vray and fusion for compositing. Coments and suggestions for future improvement are most welcome. Thanks, +421Media team. http://www.421media.com
  13. i love the composition of the second image! i think both scenes would benefit from the lower sun. firstly, like CHG suggested warmer colors and secondly you'd get more contrast in the images. have you tried some vegetation ? i think there's room for some green islands on the paved areas and also some linear vegetation. maybe a vehicle or two with some blur or a nice monorail. all either colored or NPP style.
  14. it is natural that the diffuse materials react to the color of the light hitting them and i think it gives your image a nice warm feeling. i wouldnt worry about that, if you dont like it though, you need to make the sun closer to white color without any saturation.
  15. i prefer the BW version too, but even there i would go for more darks and shadows to pop out some elements more, and to give it more depth. but if youre doing it the classical watercolor technique then the dark tones come last i suppose.
