1. Thanks , I've "finally" succeded to use th Uv Unwrap
2. Hi, How to uvunwrap this "simple" shape to work the texture in photoshop. The red part is higher than the grey one of 1 meter ( the in between color is the inclined part )
3. Thanks, I've also found this link: http://www.evermotion.org/tutorials/show/8012/making-of-student-residence I hope to see more.
4. Hi, I generally use a simple texture/color for roads but have seen some great renders with realistic roads ( stripes, dirts...etc) Is there any complete tutorial about mapping a road for a complex terrain ( not linear with intersections ) FOR A NEWBIE. I would be interested in these steps in particular: Extracting the road geometry from the model. preparing the texture according to the last geometry ( In photoshop or Gimp) . Applying the map. I would be interested if any other process. Thanks in advance.
5. Thanks krisztian. Indeed it is. As a newbie in this area, I would be interested to know if there is a better way to copy trees without this render time-issue.
6. Hi, I've made a lot of trees using the instance command ( move/shift/instance ) however the file became more more slow to manipulate. I would like to know if it is possible to display the instances as bounding box or any simpler geometry. thanks in advance
7. I thought ( hoped ) there was a way to compare between the curve of the rendered image and the one of the tree/poeple one; but obviously, it is not that simple ! ( a sort of automatic process ) Thanks for the valuable tips, it clearly needs a lot of pratice to get it right.
8. Hi, and happy new year to everyone; I would like to know what process do to use to make the trees/people contrast/saturation the same as the rendered image ?
9. Thanks Ron,That is exactly what I was asking about... Well, it seems that a shot is the best solution but it is rare ( if not impossible) to have them here. I've tried google earth and i wasn"t convinced by the result...( as the google earth images are not on an angle that could correspond to an aerial view ) that's why I'm looking for more "generic" solutions...
10. Hi maxer, That's what i've been doing, Actually it's replacing the background that is my main issue ( with what ? ). I know that some here have a shot of the environment , what if we don't ? are there some generic solutions ( as creating a cloud effect in photoshop for instance to fake seeing the buildings through clouds) ?
11. hi, Could you share yout tips on how you set the background of an bird's eye view rendering in photoshop especially etc... Thanks in advance.
12. I had this problem long time ago, one solution would be to try to open the file in another software and then export it from there....sketchup, blender or c4d...
13. It behaves almost as expected, thanks MerlyN. However, the archicad model, as simple as the test model, needs obviousely some cleaning...( extra chamfred edges) Is there any known cleaning process with ac models _ or a specific trick about chamfering only edges at the borders of the building model ?
14. Thanks for your answer I've followed your recommendations but I don't have the impression that the chamfer had any effect on my model. I've also tested the chamfer tool on a box created in max ( it seems to work as expected ) and on the archicad_test_ model ( in this case it has no visible effect ) Have I missed something in the process? I've attached my test model here ( 3ds format)...
15. Hi, To add some realism to a render, I'd like to have rounded edges in 3dmax How to proceed to have bevel edges from an imported archicad model in 3dsmax ?
