  1. Hey guys, i currently have a single shape, a red line. Starting at the top, it then rotates 180 degree to the bottom area. I need to mask off the line from going into the stands. How do i do this? I tried simply adding a rectangle mask to the line, but the rectangle rotates with the line?
  2. I do have after effects, but am incredibly stupid with it, I tried searching for how to. All i want in an arch animated in 180 degree angle lol. ive used after effects only a handful of time. Any help where to look?
  3. After comparing i understand why i think. its because the alpha mask is bigger then the object, but why is that?

    Vray Alpha help

Hey guys, I need some input. I cannot figure out why this is happening. I have a simple redline here that will animate in a 180 degree arc that i will overlay in premier ontop on the standstill image i have. I picked random screens from the arc to show whats going on. I set everything in environment to alpha 0 and matte material using vray properties. Then the object to an alpha on 1. Everything renders fine, i select to save as png with alpha In the view port it shows both the image and alpha to be correct, yet when i view it the color of the bar which is suppose to be solid red is half red with a black line almost like a shadow in it. I cannot figure this out
  5. Hey guys, im looking for an easy way to do this, or at least the name of this so i can research tutorials and such. I have a hockey rink built, i plan to keep the camera static but move a single object around. Is there a way i can render the shot exactly where the camera angle is, keep that then only render the area where the moving item is? So that the frames dont have to render every single time? Nick
  6. This makes me scream i want tutorial lol, amazing job. I tried doing vaulted ceilings once, i am curious how you accomplished it
  7. One one my first complete renders, still learning vray. Any opinions or feedback is greatly welcome. I modeled this piece early in my skill level and just recently tried lighting it i know the modeling is basic, i was focusing on a clean decent render, Thanks !!
  8. basic scene composition, most of the stuff i have on it is in books so i cant link online, but it takes about forground middle and backround. altho the 3 sight lines, its how the human eye gets drawn to a location to make a piece more interesting and visually appealing.
  9. no its not, vray i assume? you probably have it set to that many passes under indirect illumination As far as scene goes, you got a wicked color burn on left wall. My eyes keep getting drawn to the waste open white space. otherwise everything else look decent, still not alot happening add some more geometry some specular highlights on the materials and such to make it more interesting
  10. that 3 years is almost everywhere, not just architecture but also in the gaming field. Its as if no one wants new grads, and it sucks its been almost a year and i think 2 people out of my class have found real actual full time jobs. It gets depressing, but i just keep going day to day hoping and working on new stuff. I dont even know where to look anymore
  11. try being a recent grad, almost impossible to find work
  12. that simple? Whats the shortcut control l does?
  13. There is also nothing interesting going on in the scene. Very basic geometry try challenging yourself and spicing it up add something difficult to model
  14. Hey Guys, once i add lights into my scene my perspective viewport always gets blown out and i can never see what im doing, i have to goto properties and set to default lighting, but when i do any action it resets how do i get it to stay like that so i can see !!!!! Nick
  15. yes i did, and i used their 3ds max file as a template as well to make sure everything was to scale. I think its the camera view or maybe the mm gate on the camera itself
