  1. take a look at renderplus.net. its quite cheap, 14$ a hour unshared. and i've made quite good experience with them.. cheers gordon
  2. thanks for the ressource, a question on the licensing though: if i understand it correct, the standard license of ocean allows one single use of each purchase. meaning i am allowed to use a bought hrdi for only one project? cheers, gordon

  4. your welcome you can take a look at the thread at http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/37331-new-entourage-website-2d-people-skies-epictor.html as well. they provide excelent 2 people and background skies. there alot of other resources floating around in the forum as well - actually there was a thread listing different entourage sites, but i cant find it again ;/
  5. there is actually an interesting blog entry at: http://www.ronenbekerman.com/how-to-enhance-3d-renders-with-2d-elements/
  6. for us its different. timewise our images are roughly 50% 3d and 50% post production. all simple geometric stuff is placed in 3d. meaning tv, lamps, shelfs etc. basically everything thats not organic. we normally plant dummies for organic stuff, but replace it completly in the post process. the main reason are: 1. scene size 2. visual control we specially place alot of humans in our scenes, which are simply not available as 3d models (at least if aiming for some quality). the visual control is a big point as well, if you're familiar with ps its quite fast to place all the entourage in the scene. grass, trees, people etc. we mostly change the overall look and feel of render, aiming at a emotion in the image.
  7. hm, i think they're quite style wise quite up to date. but i guess thats what armilla ment, if i got it right he was refering to other entourage sites. well, im thinking to buy some, they indeed look appealing. just wondering if anyone got experience with them by now
  8. well its a simple rule: if you're currently in daylight saving time, turn it one. if you're not, turn it off. instead you could also change the time manually by your current daylight saving time offset. the point behind this: to calculate the sun position, the software needs to know the current time at the location you've pointed it to. that said the time is an offset to utc (which does not have dst and hence is a very good reference). but the software does not know wether you're on dst and it needs to add 1 hour more or less to the utc offset. so basically this means, you tell the software with the button how the entered time is interpreted
  9. hi, i found a new site selling 2d entourage stuff: www.epictor.com as far as i can tell they're selling alot of different 2d people and some nice skies. as far as i can tell, the quality seems to be outstanding. did anyone order something there and can tell if they're really as good as the samples? cheers, gordon
  10. yes the clone tool was quite overdue. in cs3 you've this luxury in the perspective clone tool already. i've been wondering since then why it didnt make it into the normal clone tool..
  11. vista 64 bit works very well for me
  12. im using dropbox - so far so good. but as mentioned, i do not trust to put sensitive data there. for the hd, i was very disappointed with wd mybook's - but very impressed with the iomega drives. i've 2 of them here, both mirrored internally.
  13. i saw scenes of it somewhere else - nice one! must've benn quite alot of work..
  14. this is a tough one.i personally don't like the dosch people, they're all looking .. well guess the best thing is to use few foreground people and fill the remaining places with 3d persons like BVI said. im not sure if they've something fitting in, but epictor sells very high quality entourage people, and i know that they do sell single images as well as sitting & lying people, though i couldn't find some restaurant bundle there. well, post some results! cheers, gordon
