    Viewport issues

I've got this issue with my viewport that when I turn on the realistic visual style all the shaded faces turn completely black. Even if I play with the shadow opacity settings I can't seem to change this. Is this a know issue, doen anyone know how to solve it?
  2. Yes Miauu's script seems to do what I was looking for. He kindly sent me a trial version so I can test it. Practical uses which I'm trying to solve are landscape and infrastructure designing, like modeling curved slopes and flyovers.
  3. Thanks for sharing your thoughts guys. Unfortunately, for this assignment I do require numeric precision, as my model will be imported into another (client) I still cant believe there's no way to edit a spline like with a helix, where you can pick the height and get a constant slope... Or even better, get the first and last vertex of a spline then select height or angle for the elevations
  4. Yes that's what i meant The only way i can think of is by measuring segments one by one and calculating the individual elevations. but my spline has like hundreds of segments so it might take a while...
  5. Because only lines parallel to the plane rotation would have the exact 10 degrees...
  6. Thank you for your reply. I also thought of that but that would only work for a straight line, not a curved road for instance
  7. ok i ll elaborate a bit more.. I've got spline with various vertex points and I want to move them up in the z-axis so I have a constant slope, for instance 10 degrees.
  8. I've been searching for days for a solution but can't seem to find any. How can I assign a constant slope (degrees) to a spline?
  9. Thanks for the responses. Ofcourse you can always adjust the gamma/exposure/light intensity. But I thought the idea of downloading ies profiles was to get a realistic fixture setting out of the box. can you share the way you implement these profiles in your scenes??
  10. Does someone know how i can render a glass facade like this example, with a soft light and fading silhoettes behind it?
  11. I've been trying to place some realistic photometric ies lights with web distribution. Somehow I'm having trouble determining the light intensity of these lights. When I place them on a average room I have to set up to 6000 candellas till i finally see a bit light. This makes it hard for me to get a realistic representation. My scenes have a realtime scale (in milimetres) and are a nighttime outside scene. Can someone give me some advice on getting them to work properly?
