    Camera Matching

Well It seems after hours of camera matching and tons of trail and error I am finally able to produce something decent to work with in photoshop I will post results later after I do the touching up.

    Camera Matching

Hey guys I am trying my hardest to get the camera I am trying to setup somewhat perfect for this picture using camera matching and it is probably by far one of the toughest things I have ever had to do in Max. It never comes out right, so i'm wondering if any of you guys could help me out. I've attached the picture I am trying to do the camera matching on and the building I am trying to fit on properly. The red lines on the picture I was trying to align the model onto that but I could never get the model to stay a good size it would always be to small, however after reading many articles on the net it seems the camera matching is my one way to fix this. Please help me out.
  4. Hmm some how the image got scaled down from when I uploaded it, maybe you can see it now and give me feed back I will try what you said as well. EDIT: Ok I tired what you said and it was not the displacement causing the trouble it was the fence I made to the left in the view port every time I hid the black part of the fence render times are normal. This would be fine but I need to have the fence in the scene can any certain settings be touched on to allow me to render the fence with everything else as well ?
  5. Hey I am back in this thread again because Vray is doing the same thing as before except on a different part of the scene. The settings you told me to change before worked perfectly but when I move to a more enclosed area on the side of the building the render times sky rocket from about 20 mins to 4 -5 hours and even then it crashes midway through. I have attached my settings and a screen shot of the view port to see if this can help out. Everything in the view port pic besides the objects in white has a displacement map on it with "tight bounds off" and "keep continuity" on. There are also 2 Vray lights in the scene and both of them have there sub divisions set to 12. When I reduced the subdivisions it make no difference in the render time. Please help me out.
  6. Ok guys I did some tweaking and this is what I have so far I think its looking ab it better but I have to turn this in on Wednesday so I am hoping you guys can help me with one last thing, which would be the sort of water feature to the left how could I make water to look like it is flowing down that object ? I tried to use Glu3d but I just cant seem to get it to work properly.
  7. Nice will definitely help a ton
  8. If you would please take a look at my scene it is a small job I got from someone I know and I really want to impress them with something more realistic than what I can do here and I only really know the basics of vray. How could I improve this scene ? Also the object to the left in the scene is meant to be a water feature which is supposed to have water running from the top of the wall into the area at the bottom. I bought Glu3d to help me out with it. I am lighting the scene with a Vray light sphere with a multiplier of 1.5 and it is located at the top of the scene. The problem I am having besides going for more realism if you notice the wall texture is looking to show a tiled pattern is there anyway to fix that ? I tried to in the UVW map but the only way I can get rid of it is making the texture to big and I am not getting the texture to be how I want it. They way it is in the image is exactly how I want it but that tiled look messes it up, any thoughts ? Another thing I see that can use some improving besides fixing the texture used for the windows is how could I add an artificial reflection to those windows since the scene basically ends at the water feature ?
  9. Don't mean to self bump but I was working on it some more and it seems the blotchiness problem went away somehow (for the most part). The problem I am having now besides going for more realism if you notice the wall texture is looking to show it's cubbed pattern is there anyway to fix that ? I tried to in the UVW map but the only way I can get rid of it is making the texture to big and I am not getting the texture to be how I want it. They way it is in the image is exactly how I want it but that tiled look messes it up, any thoughts ?
  10. Thanks alot for the tips Wacky it worked and I am able to render in high res in only 8 mins compared to the hour I had before. 11. Hey guys, I am having a really hard and frustrating time with this model I'm working on. First of max keeps crashing over and over and over this started happening ever since I imported some older work I had done into my new scene and I cant seem to make it stop so I am saving constantly to avoid losing work. Second thing is Vray is taking up a lot of ram to render scenes and when I try to render at a somewhat high resolution of 1080p max crashes and it takes up to an hour during the building of the light cache to do so, I built this machine brand new for max i7 920 rig with 6 gigs of ram. My older pc was an old Pentium D Dual Core and 2 gigs of ram and while it would chug it was at least able to render scene at that resolution with scene with up to 1 million polys. The scene I am trying to render now only has 250k polygons, something has to be wrong somewhere I cannot understand why I am getting such poor performance it's just making it extremely frustrating. And finally when I am able to render albeit at super small resolutions I see these blotches on my render on the displacement maps I tried upping the H and S subdivisions but it did not help. (please check the attached file.) Sorry for the small res but its all I could get out of max. Also here are the V ray settings I've got (please check the attached file.)
