Maxwell is a great renderer, for me. It is very simple to use, but with very realistic resuslts. The only problem, by now, is the time you need to get clean images. It seems that in version 1.0 speed will be improved.
Very good renders Mark, I like them very much.
There are two elements that I would improve:
-The spheric lamp. Try to add SSS in the day version, and more brightness
in the night one.
-The metal table. I think the material needs some kind of reflection map. You could also blur and/or low the reflection. The table gets very distort with the wide angle lenses, and shold be moved.
It is difficult to see that there's a glass on the window, because it doesn`t reflect anything.
Try to do reflections more visible or make a render without glass.
About de refraction, is the abbe number between 150-200? This high values will make noise and render times decrease (I think so).
