  1. Cultured Stone sounds like what I am looking for. I will do a search for their company. Thanks for the replies!!
  2. I was wondering if anyone has come across a program like acme's for odd shaped bricks (i.e. ashlar, flagstone, etc.) I have some images that are sort of on the right track, but if anyone's knows of a program that would help I would appreciate it. Thanks.
  3. I like the image. The canopy at the top of the building looks odd. It almost looks like little sticks laid on the roof. I would also add some detail to the red areas of the building, ie control joints or reveals.
  4. We use the phaser 8200 in our office. The output is nice like you say. I believe as long as you leave the printer on the ink will not clog up if you aren't printing often. We use it for graphics and daily office printing so I am not sure how it performs with limited use.
  5. Strat I would have to disagree. If you visit a post 25 times and it shows 25 views I would think 25 people have viewed a post. Very misleading. However if you click a post 25 times and it shows 1 view then I know that only one person has looked at the post.
  6. your right njoel. the landscaping was a last minute add and comp'd into the photo. they were rpc's and i didn't go through and add a light to cast shadows. i may go back and add that on my own. thanks strat. i will post the images soon. the lighting is still bugging me with renderdrive. i have a rman light with the skylight shader pointing directly down on the bldg. i have a sun set up at an angle casting shadows. i also have suplemental lighting pointing up to help with the darkness of shadows. i agree with you chg. this was a very small site. 15' to the left is the street and 15' to the right is the neighboring property. normally i am able to showing parking or grass around a building to give it something to sit on. all the parking for this project is behind the bldg. bye the way, is your avatar some of your personal artwork? thanks guys for the comments!
  7. Modeled in ACAD and Max Rendered with Renderdrive Any comments on how to improve in the future?? Thanks in advance.
  8. Thanks guys for the ideas. The office is planning to upgrade, but it's a few more computers than the one that just came back so I will have to wait until then. Problem is fixed!! Turns out the shop rigged up the wrong adapter so all needed to do was uninstall and replace. I got Max up and running, so now it's time to test out my new vcard (nvidia quad 980)
  9. I just got my system back from the shop(new mboard, new ram, new vcard, new processor)...pretty much new everything minus network card. We are on Windows Nt 4 and I was going to power things up and connect to the network. However, the computer will not join our domain and I keep getting this error, "DHCP failed to obtain a lease for the card...semaphore timeout period has expired" I have tried to release and renew but still the same problem. I was wondering if anyone knows a way around this...Thanks!
  10. jenni- Sorry for the delay in response. I have been out of the office on a little trip. it was a blast..too bad I had to come home. Anyways, thanks for the shader link and the info. I am about to start a new project and I will experiment with the shader. Thanks again.
  11. Jenni-I have the renderman light, but I don't have the shader you mentioned. I have looked at the cd in the past and no luck. I believe this shader was released right around the time our update service expired. I will take a look at the reference you mentioned. Thanks! I have looked at upgrading to Max5/6 but right now the cash flow isn't exactly cooperating! Hopefully here real soon that will become an option.
  12. Jenni, Thanks for the idea. I am using a RD3000 and we stopped the update service a few months back, so needless to say I don't have any shaders. Do you put in additional lighting in your scenes typicall or does this shader give you the desired look?
  13. This is a great image. The one thing that jumps out at me is the shiny look the wood is giving with the highlights. You may want to town this down a bit. Looking forward to your updates.
  14. Thanks for the comments Sawyer. Lighting is my biggest hurdle. I am using renderpipe omni lights around the house for subtle shadows and a sun source for illumination. I have played around with the settings, but obviously it's not showing. The tree is something the client wanted to show, since they will be keeping it.
