  1. I generally model in Archicad (taking advantage of all the parametric window/door libraries of course). It's great for modelling multiple storeys (floors) as well. Archicad now has parametric curtain walling if you need it as well. But others in my office model in max from the start.
  2. I like it. Is it made with Piranesi? Are clients asking for this style?
  3. I have just had a similar problem. The problem was the object was part of a group. Solution for me was to explode the group then Reset Xform, then Collapse All, then apply new UVW map. Hope this helps
  4. Go to http://plugins.angstraum.at/ for a max plugin (export 3ds) or export an obj file from Archicad. Export from the 3d window in Archicad.
  5. I have used Vectotworks (10) in the past and now use Archicad/Max/vray. This is very stable. Vectorworks was great for producing 2d working/colour presentation drawings, but for 3d, had a clunky outdated navigation process compared to Archicad and Max. Cinema4d is very intuitive to use however and coupled with Vray should be a good combination. I would model mostly in C4D given the option.
  6. Yep, I really like these:) Restrained use of filters and colour. What was your process?
  7. And you can render with Vray internally to Cinema4d
  8. Might have been better with blue skies and stronger reflections, but otherwise looks fine. We are selling the dream still;)
  9. This might be it.... http://www.pluginz.com/product/11291? but I'm close to 50 as well so could be a blind alley:D
  10. Try dragging the VRaySky from the environment slot into the Skylight override
  11. I've had success before by taking the autocad drawing into Archicad and exporting as a 3ds file. If you have archicad that could help.
  12. The biggest attraction for me would be to have an included CD/DVD with exterior and interior scenes, but simpler (ie simple boxes?). These could range through various times of day and include in the text of the book complete explanations of lighting, cameras, environment and render settings (maybe the same scene could have optional settings for preview and final renders) for each of these scenes. I'd want a book that I could use on a daily basis with everything easy to find and graphically well designed. Like a handbook, I'd love that!
  13. This is a long overdue addition. It should be easier to find everything particularly bitmaps that are too large. I have to use a script for that but it should be seamlessly integrated. This would save a lot of time. I suppose it needs to be more intuitive.
  14. Thanks Sergo - I haven't used that modifier before:) But it does not seem to be able to isolate an area. It cuts through the whole building, unless I have missed something? Once you have tried it (or seen it used) in Archicad you will definitely want it!
