  1. id like to ask you how you make the corrugated aluminum on the side of your building. i think it looks very nice and i am working to on a project which i could could use your advice. thanks.
  2. hi ive been working the last few days on making a corrugated metal vray material. I was wondering what advice others might have for me. the way i did it was to created a horizontal stripe to use as the bump, and then a Fresnel fall off reflection for the grayish metal, the problem starts with the way corrugated metal reflects, or maybe its the texture of the surface which im having trouble with. thanks in advance for your advice.
  3. this is my first high rise exterior, i would greatly appreciate c&c. I would like to make this look more photographic and give it a little more "punch" your advice would be much appreciated. thank you.
  4. sorry, where is that Insider tutorial? i'd be interested in seeing it. thanks.
  5. i am also curious. might you share your advice? thanks.
  6. thanks for your feed back. how might you suggest to get a duller polished looked for the foor? or more realism in the plant? thanks again.
  7. here is a new scene I've been working on, concentrating mostly on lighting and getting a more natural feel. please give me your feed back on how i might make it better. thank you.
  8. so, usually if i was doing a high rise. i might model on floor and then array instances of that floor up to create all the other floors. is this the best way to conserve memory, file size, etc? or is there a better way? thanks!
  9. while this all sorta makes sense, could you all pretend i am a dumb client and give me the basics on how all the relationhips affect each other, and why assigning dpi in photoshop is a good idea? thanks.
  10. thanks so much your suggestion were right on! as long as im on a role any other suggestions? i think the towel needs a better texture. i tried to use the rug tutorial, but when i set the vraydisplacement type to 2d, the geometry just dissappears. Thanks again
  11. Thank you so much for replying. Could you explain more clearly what you mean when you say, "Just control shinyness with the reflection color and fresnel falloff." Does that mean i should use only a fresnel falloff in the reflection slot? thanks so much in advance. im excited this is going to be my best render yet!
  12. ive tried turning it off, but it didnt seem to work... maybe ill try it again..? any other suggestions? thanks

when i try this tutorial i get an error from vray that says: "invalid surface normal (0,0,0) for box01, using geometric normal" why is that? thanks
  14. so im having some trouble with the reflections. they are clearly out of control. Im using vray and hrd to illuminate, but i can get control of the ceramic and ceramic tile materials so they dont blow out, but still have gloss, highlights and some reflection. any advice? thanks so much
