  1. Kinda easy actually, I have my computer hooked up to my large screen television and to my monitor at my desk. (Two Different rooms) And I have the screens cloned. When I'm sitting on the couch, it is easier to see the text when it is set to Larger - 150% in windows 7. But when I'm sitting at my desk working, I guess that screws everything up. So, I had to take it back to medium or smaller. Forget now, I'm at the office... But after, I did that... My text wouldn't get larger when the properties box was docked... I wish there was a way, to keep it two different set ups.. But this works for now..
  2. Hey, Every time, i dock my properties dialogue box the text gets all large. Anyone know how to control this.. ??
  3. Thanks for the reply Neko, I'm currently doing it as you suggested, but wishing there was another solution. I guess It is a little quirk in the system that I will just have to live with. I think that it has to be some text setting that the engineer is using and it isn't following over through the my copy paste step.. It is a strange issue... Oh well.. I guess.
  4. Hey, I'm importing Site plans from an engineers Dwgs. into mine. when I start adding my home and cleaning up the dwg. the text spacing keeps spreading out. I've adjusted the width factor in my properties box and that seems to work, but very annoying that I have to do this with every piece of text in the DWG. This just started happening about two weeks ago... And not sure why. Does anyone know of any simple Solutions.. ?? Thanks
  5. http://3dats.com/products.asp?ok=1 I'm ordering 3ds Max 2009. Just got done reading the creating roofs sample file. Looks great. Can't wait to post some of my first attempts... Sorry I keep posting in this thread... Have a good new year.
  6. jinsley,.. I've called multiple times and have not gotten a return call from the cgschool. They must be on vacation... Still learning and getting a tad better, just finding it difficult to find resources specifically for Architectural renderings... I was going to buy this book... But than, I read the reviews... http://www.amazon.com/Foundation-3ds-Max-Architectural-Visualization/product-reviews/1590595572/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1 I have the 3DS max 8 bible, but it seems to have tons of information that I'm not interested in...Animation/Teapots/ etc.. I found the tutorials section on this forum and that is helping.. Not to sure anymore, which way to go. I guess, I will just keep watching videos about everything that isn't related to architecture until I get a call back from CGSchool.. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  7. apatman.. I just tried out your control + 9 strategy on 2007 AutoCAD. Works great. Love learning new lil' tricks. Thanks for sharing.
  8. I guess, I'm the only one with this issue. .. Damm..
  9. Hey, Anyone else running Windows 7 and getting irritated with the copy clip paste commands... It seems, that it remembers up to 10 copies. .. And pastes whatever it wants... With my drawing / copying style... This is very annoying... Any fixes to this problem? Thanks, JFelix
  10. Thanks for the Reply James... I now realize, that I posted my hello to the board in the wrong section. I apologize.. I did run across this training software, and was hoping that someone had some ideas, if this would be good to get me started... http://shop.cgarchitect.com/training/3ds-max-for-architects.html I'm running Autocad architecture lt 2007 and 3ds max 2010... Any additional thoughts or ideas?? Thanks, JFelix
  11. Just wanted to say hello to the forum. Hello, I work for a local builder in Savannah, GA. And the new boss is requesting me, to convert my 2D Cad drawings into marketing renderings using 3DS Max. Don't know where to start. I figured joining this forum would help out. Anyone have any ideas on tutorials video preferred, or any books I should purchase. Hopefully I didn't post in the wrong section. Thanks for the help, JFelix
