  1. Very enjoyable read, thanks for sharing.
  2. My rendering engine is whatever comes with AutoCAD 2010. I was using (2) point lights in each fixture with 850cd of power in each individual light. The only way I was able to get anything not directly under the lights was to apply an illuminated material to it, hence the ceiling looking how it does. This is my first time playing with lighting when I used 3d before it was only for a small project that never got close to this leve. Don't even want to start on the new hardware conversation. I have had 5 computers at my job and have only been here a little over a year. None have meet AutoCAD's min specs. and I'm trying hard to get them to spring for a system that is meant for 3d work.
  3. I do realize they need work. I was running into both time and hardware limitations. My laptop does not meet AutoCADs min. specs for 3d so I was running into a lot of crashing slow work. I really need to see what I can figure out for better lighting, I think that would greatly help the ceiling and other areas with harsh shadows.
  4. I did this for a board presentation. All work done in AutoCAD 2010, and my first time with 3d work since 97 so don't be to rough I'm still learning
  5. 2nd the laptop idea! I am trying hard to convince my work to get me a laptop for doing 3d renderings with AutoCAD 2010. I am the only person in the company needing something so powerful and I want something to work at night and weekends on to meet deadlines but they are stuck on a desktop. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
