  1. Thanks man, I’ll speak with the technician /seller. It’s his job
  2. The cooling system is NZXT kraken x72 and seems well installed, same brand as the case
  3. Thanks! Seems that maybe it was a “normal” behavior after all. My trees have no reflection neither opacity and still I can not put more that 500 with 64 GB ram. Some people told me about more than 10000 with 32GB, (now I don’t know if they were gray proxy)... but if I remember well 3 years ago I was able to populate much much more of them... ok. I’ll use forest pack then.
  4. Hey look what I’ve found: https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-threadripper-2990wx If you scroll down to the specifications for the RAM needed by this AMD processor says System Memory System Memory Specification 2933MHz System Memory Type DDR4 Memory Channels 4 So... because I’m having 2666 GHz, I think that could be a possible cause... but the “technician” selling this should know that .
  5. Thanks Francisco. I’m getting more variables in the equation. I am not running out of disk space, I will check the power supply and let you know. About the computar only reading half of the RAM and being solved like this (moving it to other slots) I found it a bit sloppy solution and not Hong is much answers about what was the real problem. I’m not the one that paid for the computer I’m helping to solve it (in fact I’m the one who has to) I’m living in Athens and I don’t speak the language yet so I need to make double veggies translating all, the shop that sold it seems not knowing much about all this... now I’m a bit lost with lots of work to do and with a computer that is not working well...I’ll speak with my bosses about contacting again the shop and have done answers. The RAM we are using is 2666 GHz and someone told me that should be at least 3000 GHz, I mentioned here in another thread but I had a convincing answers about it saying that the speed of the RAM is irrelevant for visualizes. I don’t know is is related to all this, and I have made another thread about it but the proxies don’t behave like they should and overload my RAM, I’m used to them and I can not even scatter 1000 trees in proxie format in Corona... the RAM gots filled... I’ll post my next move!!
  6. Hi, i am converting the trees into corona proxies, as i usually did before in previous versions, but now seem that the proxies are not doing their job: normally converting the trees to proxies and scatter them allowed me to scatter a big quantity of them (12000) for instance and render them, i am aware that the proxies doesn't speed up the render but allow to have a big load of them in one image. What is happening now is that the computer runs out of RAM just scattering 2000 of them (instances), I've got 64 Gb RAM. I have tried many things: uncheck the box in order not to have them loaded on the RAM, seven in more than one location in two different HD in the computer... nothing seems to work and I am doing the same I was doing before with other versions. I am using: 3d Max 2018 (tried in 2020 and same problem) and corona 3... i can use normal mesh trees (up to the total the Ram allows me) but they overload the memory. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks
  7. Thanks, I will let you know about the power supply, seems that the whole issue must be running out of RAM... I’m doing some tests wit large scenes and images and rendering over night. Tomorrow I’ll give some more info. All the RAM seems recognized by the machine, during the first days only half of the 64 GB were recognized, and the seller changed the ram cards in other slots... hope is not faulty is Kingston Corsair. I’ll put some more info about my tests and the monitoring of temprerature.
  8. Hi all, I've got this new machine: AMD ryzen 2990 WX 32 core Asus graphic card: vga rog-Strix-RTX2080-08G/8/GDDR6 64GB RAM (4 x 16GB) Kingston DDR4 2666Mhz I am using 3d max 2018 corona 3 and Windows 10 home Wen sending some renders with batch render the computer stops at one point and the screen turn black, then the fans are full power... Im renderiong a 30 milion poligon scene, big mastrerplan, with trees in forest pac, sent the images with batch render at 7000 pix and 40 passes... the computer stops ion the first camera i've got 9) around 20 passes. If i reduce the sice to 5000 pixels and the passes to 20 it renders the images but at the end the screen goes black and the fans again full power, the fans are not normally noisy, the computer is new and the tower has 7 fans. What could be stressing the computer? i am doing more tests to see what happens with other files... does any one know if it could be overheating? is there any way that i can tell corona to use less cores/ threads so the computer heats less? Thanks in advance
  9. Hi all, I’ve read in this forum that running 3D Max 2018 in windows home it can have some problems. In the Autodesk website they list windows 10 professional not home... I’m experiencing some problems, like my proxy objects overloading the RAM or not being able to use x-ref scenes (they don’t show)... as well as that the batch render stops and the computer got stuck. I’m not sure if those issues are about the windows problems or not, does any o e know which issues can I have running windows 10 home instead of professional? Thanks
  10. Hi all, I’ve got a pc: AMD ryzen 2990 WX 32 core Asus graphic card: vga rog-Strix-RTX2080-08G/8/GDDR6 64GB RAM (4 x 16GB) Kingston DDR4 2666Mhz I’ve been working on a very big project, and have set all the cameras to render, the project is a big masterplan with 30 Milion polygons. Software running was 3D Max 2018 with forest pack, Corona 3 render. When sending all the cameras with batch render (so I queue one after the other) the computer screen goes black and all the fans quite noisy... imagine the frustration, specially on this new computer... It seems that the computer enter in this state after a while, the images were 7000 pixels and 40 passes in Corona, and the above mentioned happen, not even one image rendered (from the 9 cameras sent). I’ve reduced the images to 5000 pixels and to 40 pases and the images seem to render but the computer goes to same estate at the end of the process: black screen and all fans full power. I’ve monitores the prices and it is using 56 GB ram maximum pick during the rendering, parsing etc, about the cores: it uses all of them 100% during rendering, decreasing the percebtage and number of cores used during denoising. Do you think that the computer gots over heat? It seems week equipped with impressive 7 fans, I was putting a small hard drive external on top of the case interrupting slightly the entrance of air... but seems weird... Do you think I can and I should tell Corona to use not all the processors (if that’s possible) I don’t think that the 3D Max file has much to do with this, but I’ve been having problems with the file with messy xrefs objects... I will do more test today with new files but does anyone know what could be happening? Thanks
  11. Thanks!!! Forest pack has been very good and now am able to Populate all with trees, it is still a midterm why the proxi in Corona are that RAM consuming. About the speed of the RAM someone told me that I’m not using all the potential of the machine because I’m not using a ram that is at least 3000 GHz. We have been offered by the shop we’re we bought it to change the ram from 2660 Ghz to 3000 for free... I will inform you if I notice something. About the textures, just resizing a couple of 8K ones have speed up the rendering a lot,
  12. Thanks for your reply, the plugin to resize the textures seems very useful. I was thinking to use forest pack to see if there is less memory consumption with it (you mention forest pro, is it the same?), another consideration do you or any one know if my memory RAM should be over 3000MHz instead of 2666MGhz? someone told me that with this kind of processor i should have better ram (over 3000GHZ) more than more quantity... By the way I am using corona 3.0 and max 2018,
  13. Hi all, at work they have bought a new computer: AMD ryzen 2990 WX 32 core Asus graphic card: vga rog-Strix-RTX2080-08G/8/GDDR6 64GB RAM (4 x 16GB) Kingston DDR4 2666Mhz I am doing a big masterplan with around 40 million polygons, around 700 trees in proxy (references no copies), I have x-ref big part of the scene, all buildings are x refs. I am rendering at 4000 pixels, and I’ve got a warning in Corona about running out of RAM, the computer crashes. I’ve made a few tests, and the computer can render up to 40 million polygons with no problem... A friend mentioned that the kind of RAM I’ve got should be above 3000Ghz... Am I really running out of RAM? The trees are proxies not loaded in RAM (static) shall I get more RAM? Change the one I have? I remember going very complex images with similar computers in other companies... Any help welcome!!!
