1. http://kotaku.com/next-gen-lighting-is-pushing-the-limits-of-realism-1625324795 Thoughts on if this could be the future of arch viz?
2. Alright, so I am pretty far along the way of my scene, but I am already thinking a bit about the lighting. Now I created 2 different lighting angles and I can't decide which is a better one to use. Sometimes I hear it good to add depth to a scene, other times I hear it good to show as much of your scene in the light as after all its used to sell the design. What would you recommend? Many thanks.
3. I am having the same problem trying to make this. Vray discplacement is not giving me the results I want. Anyone figure out a good way to go about this since this was first posted?
4. Okay so here is my final Result.
5. Thanks for the kind comments! I am in the final stages of doing some post work on that second image. I think its going to turn out real nice. Remember I am not new to 3DS Max or 3D in general just to the field of Arch Viz, most of my 3D work revolves around Oil, and Gas at work.
6. Here is a quick update on what I have changed based on your feedback. Let me know is this is heading int he right direction.
7. Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the glass does seem to be dark, I think that is just my bad with playing the the reflection vray pass. Yeah I never really tried playing around with sun position all that much. I will try playing with it.
8. Studio/Institution: Personal Client: None Genre: Residential Exterior Software: 3DS Max 2011, Vray, photoshop Description: This is my first so to speak Arch Viz render. This is based on the Waimarama house, maybe to 70% accuracy. I am trying to broaden my 3D horizon, and thought I should try Arch Viz for once. I am a big fan of architecture, and very much enjoy modeling and lighting. I am hoping that this would be a place where people can evaluate my work with a tought critique. I want to know if this even makes the bare minimum cut. This is my first work remember so please let me know just how bad this is, and what I need to to to improve. Many thanks, Lars
9. Hi, I am trying to get more into arch and design type of 3D after doing so much of everything else. My question is say I want to create my own 3D render of say the new american home of 2012 or any building do you need to get past copyright issues, or not? None of the things I would create would be for sale, just for the purpose of education and promoting my skill-set. Thanks in advance.
10. thanks, I am still thinking about my options with the sky/clouds idea. I have tried several options before from hdri and sky domes, to just adding it in post-production ie photoshop. However I am not getting the results I want, as in either the sky does not fit with the forground at all or it darkens the scene to much. Heh, the blue man was just for scale reference. he won't be there int he fianl render.
11. Hello, I am currently looking for a internship in calgary around the lines of arc viz. So to strengthen my portfolio I am creating a couple arch viz shots. My first being a simple house. This was created in 3ds Max 2009 and Vray with only a couple minor post production work. The image is not in super high quality as it is for crit. Please let me know what you think, and what I can further do to improve it. I want my portfolio to be impressive so I welcome any opinions that have solutions with it. Thanks.
