1. I did. Must be something else.
2. I am trying to render a simple box with wire frame rendering technique by using vray edge material. But what I got is all the edge be rendered. How I can get rid of those edges inside a face?
3. Currently, I know I need to adjust gamma value in 3dmax for LWF. What about the computer screen gamma? Do I need to adjust it?
4. 1. Is LWF a must for VRay rendering? I remembered I don't need to do any extra things when I did Vray rendering in my former firm's machine two years ago. But now when I tried to render in my own machine, I found the image is too gray. I was told LWF is the way to go. Does it mean my previous firm's computer has been adjusted by someone else? 2. Where is the best source to learn quickly? Thanks for your input. I need to tackle this today. My design is done but the presentation quality is an issue!
5. I put originally in Vray, the moderator moved the thread to here. I guess I need to study more by myself first. Thanks for your help, Andrew.
6. Thank you. Finally I understand there is indeed a hardware calibrator. For now, I just need clibration to make my vray engining render great color in 3dmax, do I still need calibrator? Last year, I was trying to adust Gamma or use linear workflow to adjust my rendering result, but it isn't successful.
7. Andrew: yes, I can see the link now. Thanks! I saw some hardware with GPU, Fermi card( wow, nVIdia finally put this fermi in the market!) but not calibrator. What did I miss?
8. It is time for me to tackle the linear workflow issue again. I think the first step is to calibrating my screen. According to some articles, I should use hardware calibrator first, am I right? Based on the following link, I can't see any color appeared in the graph, that means I definitely need to calibrate my sceern. What is your opinion? http://www.imaging-resource.com/ARTS/MONCAL/CALIBRATE.HTM
9. Anyone knows why maya is used extensively for modeling fluid form architecture? by checking their tutorial, I found it could easily build fluid form like my sketch pencil. intuitive. But I guess this isn't all their strength. without using it, I don't really know what it is. Comments here? Also, Maya can extend architects' design vocabulary, in the meantime, by mastering maya, one can improve his/her imagination on the architecture forms. Many people like me, never found a chance to put a fluid form into a real projects. By checking NOX early deisng like water pavilion, I found it is logical to put several ellipse form together to construct a wave-like environment for people to experience water. So fluid form have its own building and market, I want to prepare myself if the chances knock on my door.
10. Thank you all for your replies. adarsh's reply especially answered some of my specific questions. I need to get busy in other issues for a few days then will come back to post further questions.
11. Aaron: Thanks for reminding me 90 degree rule. Let me think again...
12. Hi, guys: I am taking ARE site planning test soon. Here I encountered a question regarding the water drainage issue on a slope. Many of us want to see if I can run a simple simulation to see how the water really drained from higher contour to the lower. Pls see the attached. I don't need to have beautiful rendering but I need the water can come down the hill by gravity. Any quick and accurate way to do it? It seems I need to use particle flow. or some plugings like blender. Any tutorials?
13. Finally I got it. Thx. Since I render to hard drive, so this srgb doesn't matter I think.
