  2. ok, i can't find a original XP CDrom (it's a laptop from aldi/ medion). Only CD's i found are the product recovery, and an application/support CD. I suppose i have to use the product recovery. Using this, will i lose all my data and files? or is it just quick repair in XP?
  3. well, when it boots, it goes right away to the screen with the options -safe mode - safe mode with network - safe mode with command - last succesful boot - normal startup. non of these options work, the laptop keeps rebooting after the black XP screen
  4. hey, i bought a A3 printer yesterday (HP 2800 buisiness) and i wanted to connect it to my laptop. It had an USB connector. Now, my previous experciences with USB were, that you just had to plug the machine and wait to XP recognize the stuff. So i plugged it in, and started the printer for its testpint pages. While it was printing these pages, i inserted the CD for the drivers, and i started to install them. But suddenly my laptop shut down, and i can't restart it!! i can boot it, it goes to de black windows XP initializing screen, and then again it reboots, over and over again. Does this have something to do with me playing stupid with not following the install order of the printer (printer on/test page - install driver - connect printer to laptop)??
  5. hey, thnx for the replies, the layiso command doesn't seem to work (we have CAD 2002 at school), the filter command does quit the job, though pretty much clicking... the layiso command would have been perfect...
  6. hey, i would like to know whether it is possible in autocad tot select all objects (lines, text, dimensions) that are in one layer all together, with out having to click every single object, or without having to turn off the other layers? thnx, monkeyboy
  7. hey, i like the design, but the question to support is also linked with how people will enter these structures... maybe try to design some kind of sub_structure that functions as support system aswell as transportzones. monkey
  8. ooooh yes, thats it, now i see, thnx for the reply i dont need the laptop voor 3d application, its just voor typing and internet on the road, so the 192 MB will do, monkey
  9. Hey, i bought a new laptop (toshiba A60-302) with standard 256 MB ram in it. Today i was checking the system for flaws, en i sax that there was only 192 Ram built in. I ckecked double with de XP system tab, and then with FreeRAM, the freeware from bysoft. both showed the same result. Now i know that memorymodules can difference a little, but 64 MB RAM? Should i contact the shop, of is this a common thing? thnx, monkeyboy
  10. hello, is it possible to resize a patern with the pattern stamp? for example: a hatch with chessboard, i want some parts with big squares, some parts with smal squares. is it possible, without having to make a new pattern?
  11. hey, i'm making a project in school with the renderer Brazil with a pure white building on grass. now the grass should give a little bit green on the walls, but not all the way up the building. just on the base of the building. is it possible to reduce color bleeding with the brazil renderer? If so, how is it done?

    MeshSmooth

hey skogskalle, it did work indeed, but as you can see on the image, de seat is organic, de tabletop itself not. on geometry de tabletop does not deform when applying the meshsmooth, but in shading it also takes some smoothing. can i turn it off somehow?

  14. heyall; since 2 months i've got these problems with my monitor. First i had a 17" CRT but suddenly the right side started "squiggeling", and little by little the problem got worse, and the whole screen startend flashing. After 2 weeks I ended up with a monitor with a complete disfigured screen. It was conic, so i supposed it had something to do with magnetism somewhere. I tought a leak from my monitor speakers. Now i bought a new screen, a 19" CRT, everything works perfect. I have it set on 1280*960 resolution. the speakers i haven't connected anymore. Now; when my Pc is in screensaver mode, and i go back to windows, the sides of my window doesn't fit the monitors size anymore. The screen is a little bit bigger, so the tiny sides of a window aren't visible anymore. If you know what i mean. not a big problem, but i don't want to resize the screen every time i come out of screensaver mode. Anyone had related experiences? or solutions? May be it my videocard (Nvidea GeForce 4)? thnx Monkey
