  2. Thanks for the link! Unfortunately my card isn't on the list Thanks for other link also, will have a test after i finished my project.
  3. It would be very nice to have one or more benchmarks scenes to test our graphicards. I still think that spending 700€ on a V7900 was way to much for the performance i have.. It's probably very good with things i don't use...
  4. I do not recommend the Hyper 212 EVO for cooling. This one has not included a Socket LGA2011 bracket. You can obtain it free of charge with the "free LGA2011 Bracket Program" on the company website. So keep that in mind
  5. Thanks again! your setup has bin a great timesaver for me to built a workstation. I see you've added a basic rendernode The next thing will be rack-based rendernodes. Trying to built a few myself using this as a reference(using the http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/render-farm-node,2340.html . But's a bit dated..
  6. thanks, i went for the midrange with the hdd and videocard you suggested! without the mouse etc.
  7. Nice list Andrew Lynn! what about a render computer? I'm trying to compound a computer only for (distributed) rendering. It is meant to speed up the process at home. In the future i want to add a videocard for gpu rendering, but for now it is ok without. My thoughts were: - i7 2600 \ 16Gig ram Budget around 1200$ Is there a system on your list what is suitable for only rendering? were i can change the video-card for example? thanks
  8. Studio/Institution: Pdb|design Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3ds Max2010 Vray PS Cs4 Website: http://www.pdbdesign.nl Description: Hi there! Here's an interior i made for a client. I was quite happy with the result so i thought i show it here. There are always things where i could spent some more time on. but he, you know how it goes.. Millenium Hope is the name of the table btw wich makes this room nice. And look at the Thinking man's chairs in the garden! Cheers Jeroen Prins
  9. Ahum...For some reason all my panels were off, so i had to tick them again. Now its working fine rightmouse button --> panels
  10. Got the same sort of problem. I have not a single option in selection and freeform. You found a solution yet?
  11. The solution: It was all caused by the Ati drivers. There was an option in the catalyst control center which repositioned the dialogs every time. Hydravision --> Desktop manager --> unthick the Enable Dialog Repositioning Thanks for the support!
  12. Ok i got some answers from the contributor / autodesk: 1} If they don’t want to create a new user: what you could try is to remove anything 3ds Max or if they don’t have other Autodesk products, anything Autodesk related that you can find under the user: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Autodesk C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk.” 2) About the issue with the toolbars: this is most likely a setting in the graphics driver about remembering window positions. I’ve also seen this with Ati cards. The solution is to disable the option that the driver remembers the window position (which conflicts with 3ds Max remembering the window position). 1) Didn’t work, i will try making a new account later. 2) This sounds like a reasonable solution, at the moment i cannot find an option with windows position but its a good direction to seek for a solution. For the information; i work on a FireGL V7700 I will update when i’ve tried those options
  13. maybe show a screen of your problem. Is there a chance not all your maps are UNC? or if you calculated a Irrmap before the final render this one is not UNC?
  14. In vray i should say: clamp output / subpixel mapping, maybe there are such options in MR. The highlights are to bright for max to display. hopes it help, otherwise it's maybe better to post in the MR part of the forum.
