Im having to use Max quite extensivley at the moment, and I would like to use the Maya shortcuts ....have any of you a KBD setting that replicates Mayas I could pinch

Im opening myself up for a load of flak, but I'm disgusted by a recent Job ad on CGA for a UK company offering £8-£12 per hour for freelancers.
Driving down costs like this doesn't do any of us any favours....I dont know anyo self respecting freelance designer in the UK who can afford to work for £56 per day....it just feels like this is an exploitative "everyone is scrapping for work....lets rape them" attitude.
I often use freelancers for overflow work, and I pay them a decent rate for a decent days work..and the agencies I freelance for have the same attitude.
lets not demean our profession by driving prices down to ridiculous levels.

the render is 1000 frames.....if I start at 1...by frame 20 its black.....if I start at 600, by 620 its black....think its a bug
Im reluctantly moving over to Mental Ray as we speak
just need to relearn it and find out how to render a flyby !
Ive created a new scene....merged stuff in bit by bit....still doing it
could it be a memory issue....or changing the settings to dynamic geometry (to get SP3a upto speed) clutching at straws,,,,but really struggling
Im not sure it is exposure now.
Ive stripped the scene right back. turned GI off, mapped everything with a simple vray texture, chucked an omni in(turned sun off) ....and its still fades darker with each progressive render.
its as if something is animated in the render settings....but theres is nothing set.
I dont know this and the camera wobble are related. i did a scanline render and everything is fine (camera smooth and no darkening)
I think I have narrowed down my earlier problem to exposure control / color mapping.....for some reason the camera is making the scene overall darker and lighter depening on the amount of light / brightness (sort of how a real cameraworks ). I want a consistent exposure and dont know how to force this.
Im using 1.5 sp3a
the camera is a standard max camera, and the scene is lit with vray sun/sky system
I've done dozens of anims like this before....its only started happening since Im upgraded to SP 3a
any help greatly appreciated...im losing the will to live ,
