  1. There's a Vray Utility Maxscript which converts all the standard materials and raytraced shadows to Vray Materials and Shadows. (Vray SceneConverter appears on the shortcut Quad Menu) Vray Materials are pretty faster to render than Standard Mats. You could use combination of both standard and vray mat to balance the speed and quality. Attached the script..remove the .txt extension.
  2. OMG! stunning..your works are really great!
  3. WOW! Cool renderings! nothing to crit...except the ones already mentioned by others. Keep coming!..
  4. A good start! In addition to others, I would like to suggest you using SuperSampler (if you are using 3dsmax/viz) for the procedural or repetive pattern textures.
  5. Nice exterior night shot. Thanks for sharing the technics involved in the production.
  6. amazing work! the birds eye view quite impressive. i like them all!
  7. Great work indeed! its really good to see the various process that you had worked. thanks for sharing!
  8. Hi Thanks a lot for posting your crits. I admit the camera view is bit odd but had to position like that to avoid colliding with pillars (pillars could have been removed). The first floor is bit dull coz sunlight is passing thro the top opening at center of the hall. Though a little work around is reqd to lighten up the first floor. I had to avoid the blurry reflection to make the rendering bit quicker. i don't think i could work more on that at the moment..shall try later. once again thanks a lot for ur crits...keep coming. thanks shan
  9. Hi Everyone! A cafe interior, modeled using poly modeling & simple extrusion methods, and rendered using Vray. Actually this piece of work is an refined one done during my spare time. Initially it was rendered using Scanline Renderer (which i wasn't satisified at all ) Its a mixture of my own concept and existing shopping mall's lobby. Render Time : 2 hrs @ 3 Ghz PC with 1 Gig RAM Furnitures are custom modeled, with reference to an online furniture catalog. A little post processing done in photoshop. * PS: No CAD files were used self-crits: 1. Shop Images Repeated - The shops are images, found only 2 images matching the view and structure. Hence repeatedly used. 2. Light should cast out of the shops and spread out little into the environment - I couldn't get time to fix that out. 3. The plants doesn't seem to be realistic. - Couldn't manage time to fix that. Tried with some detailed plant models, but ended with very long hours of render time. more comments and crits are welcome. thank you in advance. __________________ Shan PS: it's also been posted in the CGTalk forum http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=302362
  10. Wow! The details are impressive. The glow on the adjoining edges and on the closely facing surfaces are bit obvious but I know sometimes it's hard to get rid of it. Good lighting and rendering. Guess you use VRay?.. Shan
  11. Hi Todd Nice work. The pool chair with cushon has really come out well and the plants as well. Just a few crits - some textures look flat (on the wall & floor), - the wine glass trans/refraction, - slightly over bluish on the shadow regions. rest are really fine..! Shan
  12. Hi Elif, That's a wonderful piece of work. I like the way you started with conveying a littile story to add more flavor to the physical but artistic building design. The dramatic views, the lighting, over all material appearance were really interesting, and cool. Is that your own concept design?..What about the art poster? Did u paint it? I do agree with Martin in regard to the bg image seen thro windows..wish to see more renders with that kind of lace curtains.. I haven't yet tried with "light cache map" in Vray..guess i should try that too. thanks for sharing. Shan
  13. Some of the interior renderings from the walkthro animation which runs around roughly 2 mins+. Yeah i agree there's little interior stuffs shown, but we couldn't do all within a tight schedule.. scanline, standar lights, lograthmic exposure (720x410 px res) thanks shan
