  1. yep that option was enabled....strange thing now, with a new scene, tried merging a single object from the 'infected' file and tried saving it....n wow....it hang while saving it! guess my whole file was corrupted and no way i can salvage it

  3. i tried both scripts on my max design 2011 with the latest patch...seems not working or i missed out something? even if i create entirely new scene without merging any 'infected' files or objects, my scene takes very very long to save. did all i could, clear the Reactor collisions, run the motion n removemixerfrag scripts...now this is drving me mad. lost a lot of time just waiting for the damn file to save

    are u using cad to contruct the windows elev then open it in max? for my way of working it, i would create the arch in cad itself and array them

Hi guys, I'm not sure if any of you have received this licensing error..but it bothers me that i'm not able to hold my license even for a day. although our office uses the netowrk license, any many license are available, still the server will 'pull-away' my license unexpectedly. already emailed Autodesk and they had no solutions to it..
  6. value of EV 8 is pretty wash out, normally, i would use a value of between 12 and 13 for daylighting scene, with skyportal to add additional illumination. AO value of 100mm is ok, perhaps some of your samples values are low? which causes those blotchiness
  7. are you using any custom background map with the physical sky shader? i used to face similar blotchiness, so i off the background mapping, as the RGb level was set to a high value to bring out the contrast. another possibility is your Gamma settings, and the mr exposure control, what is your value?
  8. well guys, i managed to download my copy of 2010 and try it out. didn't really explore or test out 100% but notice a major change to the interface. icons seems to change though. one thing that impress is the capibility of viewport shading. the material editor seems unchanged, no new material types, addition of global lights and shadows control if i can recall. other than that still exploring the 350 new features?so...still testing 'what doesn't works"

  10. well...true mac is a mac. can't compare these 2 either. only thing would be good if Mac can support more options of graphic cards

By reading the specs of this machine, i think the Z800 has overtaken Mac Pro as the most powerful personal workstation... check out the latest Nvidia FX cards, wonder if they beat the ATI 4870 out of the water?! beside the cable-free system in Mac Pro...everything else is beyond what MacPro can offer...well, maybe it's too early to tell but from the spec of the Z800, it looks indeed to push MacPro out of the way
  12. how do i render with edged faces applied? i've tried contour line rendering but itonly renders black and white lines. thanks
  13. anybody knows if the Radeon HD 4870 X2 is supported in mac pro 2009? if it does, awsome power!
  14. get the "nehalem" Xeon macpro, the fastest at the moment, and install Vista 64/XP 64 and you get 16 cores!
  15. so the i7 is still a Core, but i'll wait for the Xeon "Nahalem" as i've asked one of my local Dell guys and he told me the i7 will never outperfrom the Xeon haha, is it true?
