I tried using Mental for the first time on a project, hope you like.

On one machine the vray spawner after initiated dissapears from the windows task bar. Under admin on the pc it runs fine and stays in the task bar. How do I get the spawner to run correctly out of admin?

Do any of you "give" away your fully textured and entourage max models? I am assuming that doing so would not only violate third party plugin and software licensing but also would be absurd to give away intellectual property.

I have Vray DR setup on two machines for now, when I submit a DR render the vray info dialog box shows the scene transfered to the pc's, however immediately after submitting the scene the dialog states they have finished rendering and the host machine continues to render without the other two contributing, ideas?

I'm a making a transition to MR from Vray, I know vray has specific lights that work best (vray lights). Which lights are best suited for Mental Ray? Specifics: I have a hospital lobby that is anchored on either end with skylights and curtain walls, however the middle has no windows. I'm using MR Sun and Sky for the skylight and curtain wall areas. Which lights are best suited for the middle ground? Ceiling height ranges from 9-12'

Suggestion: An editing forum. Now to the question: I have a 5gig uncomp video I like to give to client so they can share via internet, cd, dvd and tv. Which compression method should I use? I have adobe premeire and Sony Studio.

I have produced a vray animation out of max at 480x360. What is the maximum size I can output out of the editing suite and maintain visual clarity at full screen viewing? Which output type and codec do you guys recommend? mpeg1, mpeg2, mpeg4, avi or mov? Which codec should I use? Is there an alternative to the mentioned?

I don't think a 50/20 split on the IRR settings is enough, bump this to 80/30. Also, try a the "summed" filter in the material dialog box, see attached. Hve you tried a Brute Force as Primary? Look up universal settings in vray and tweak as you like.

I switched to BruteForce 1/100, .85/.005 no more problems, slightly longer render time but the dancing shadows and flicker are gone. Not using secondary bounce, tweaked color mapping and camera for desired lighting.

I have an animation that when rendered on my home PC, renders fine very little flicker or shadow dancing on flat wall surfaces. However, when I ran it on the render farm service, the animation has cone back with flicker and dancing shadows. Any way to fix this is post or do I need to re-run the animation without LC and only produce it with IRR?

Do you like to use Irradiance Map or Brute Force for exteriors? I have yet to use brute force for fears of major flicker in the animation.

When creating a vray proxy out of one of the bionatic trees, it renders perfect. When I save the scene, exit and reopen the textures for the vray proxy can't be found. Also, what causes Vray to crash when rendering easynat trees?

Have an issue with the rendering farm. I produced two animations with the same parameters for each, same vray IRR settings, same LC settings, camera's same etc...Max Gamma settings set same. However, one renders correctly with gamma and the other renders with incorrect gamma....hmmm
