  1. As impressive as Fuzor is at some things, Enscape 3D really blows it out of the water. First solution I've seen that is serious competition for traditional rendering. http://enscape3d.com/videotutorials/
  2. Separate setting for the render iterations?
  3. I tend to have at least a double system. If I buy something, models or textures from a place like Evermotion or download a material, I typically keep it the way I got it in a general stuff folder. I then take components from this that I use and copy them over to my own organized file structure. I also typically make a copy of my textures as I tweak them in Photoshop so I don't mess up the original. The good part is that my own structure becomes very optimized with only the stuff I really like, but I still end up with a mess in the general folder and it is often faster to look at CGTextures than trying to find a texture there. Since I copy textures when I tweak them in Photoshop I usually have to relocate them in the material editor anyway, but at least this is on a map by map basis. I've looked at project browser solutions like Motools but have yet to pull the trigger. I guess I'm concerned that I spend a lot of time setting up such a system and then the next version doesn't work with the latest Max/vray or worse that the vendor disappears.
  4. This is funny. I remember a situation in the 90's where the studio signed up to make an animated squirrel for a children's show, which ended in a bit of disaster in terms of realism. They eventually managed to agree with the producer to settle for a turtle instead.
  5. How does it compare to Lumion? I assume you must have looked around
  6. Reliable or not, this has to be a peak into the future. Great job. Can you manipulate DOF in realtime as well?
  7. Dude, you are totally back pedaling now. This is your exact statement, and I think I understood it: "Every European company I spoke to quoted more just for the modeling than I am charging for completed renders, so I tried Chinese and Indian firms."
  8. It is funny though how 99% of all threads on this forum is horrified that work can be done cheaper somewhere else, and then suddenly when it turns out the work is abysmal, many are shocked and find it completely unexpected. Probably one of the most hypocritical threads ever. "All the "plumbers/car mechanics/fill in blank" were way to expensive so I found this supposedly reputable company on the internet..." Tommy, don't you honestly see this yourself?
  9. Realize this is an old thread, but I'd like to know as well.
  10. Devin, interested in hearing your reasons for moving from Archicad to Revit? Didn't Archicad just integrate Cinema4Ds render engine? Some super quick responses with very simplified answers: -What type of render engine does Revit use and how does it compare to something like Vray? Mental ray, and although it is theoretically a great engine most pro images will continue to be produced in Max/Vray -What is the workflow like to create photo real renderings in Revit? Similar, set lights and materials. -Do you have to use Autodesk's cloud for rendering or can this be done locally? No, can be done locally -How well does the linking between Revit and 3D Studio work? Via FBX and acceptable, but triangulation, etc complicates things Other people will fill in I'm sure.
  11. I think it is getting much better, but have you tried with a different hdr just to test, or rotating it and see if you can get some more interesting shadows? Your scene in the front is very evenly lit, which I think takes away from realism. Another thing that struck me is how the buildings are lined up very uniformly. I don't mind the design, probably very typical for a tourist resort, but maybe you could offset them a little in relation to each other, or perhaps angle them.
  12. Very interesting to see how you developed the environment. Did you add the foot paths in Photoshop or in 3D?
