  1. 15-17% range is ok if you compare them with Cinebench R11.5 or scanline renderer. Vray is a different story and it is rarely seen in CPUs reviews . Cinema 4D R13 - default renderer is also different from Vray or Cinebench R11.5: Try it yourself if possible and you will see how impressive it is.
  2. And the temps: My ambient temp ~ 25-26 Celsius degree: Rendering temp: LinX non AVX IBT-maximum + AVX: Thanks for watching.
  3. Vray 1.5SP5 & 3dsmax 2011 vs Vray 2.40.03 & 3dsmax 2012 3dsmax 2011 + Vray 1.5SP5: 3dsmax 2012 + Vray 2.4: Vray 2.4/3dsmax 2012 seem a little faster than Vray 1.5SP5/3dsmax 2011.
  4. The results: All screenshots can be downloaded here : http://www.mediafire.com/download/v67qvbuh52ewqvq/Screenshot.rar And the charts: Archinteriors 01 - vol 01:: Rendering time (second): lower is better. Archinteriors 03 vol 16:: Rendering time (second): lower is better. Archinteriors 03 vol 16 - Rendering time (percent) compare with Xeon E3 1230V3:
  5. Hello everyone. Recently, I have some quick test with Xeon E3 1230V3, a Hasswell base CPU with a famous 3D renderer : Vray I used 2 version of 3dsmax & Vray to do my tests. Vray 1.5SP5 & 3dsmax 2011 Vray 2.40.03 & 3dsmax 2012 The rendering time to finish the render tasks of Xeon E3 1230V3 are really impressive compare to the previous gen CPUs. I did my tests with 2 3dsmax scenes from Evermotion. (Lightcache/Number of passes is set to 8/12 to match the CPUs core/threads) Archinteriors 01 - vol 01: Archinteriors 03 vol 16: My hardwares : Intel Xeon E3-1230V3 Haswell LGA 1150 Crucial Single 16 chip 8GB ( 2x4GB ) bus 1600 Gigabyte H87M-D3H - LGA 1150 Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB Sparkle NVIDIA GTX 650 Corsair Builder VS450 Zalman CNPS 5X Performa THOR Athena Mid-Tower Gaming Case
  6. You should look at the apps you or someone need, I7 3770K is more powerful in most single threaded apps, not all apps. In this case, I would stick with Vray renderer, and if you want a review you can search about it if you dont impress with my results: http://www.behardware.com/articles/880-7/amd-fx-8350-review-is-amd-back.html Vray 2:
  7. You can get an AMD FX 8350 for faster Vray rendering + cheaper price: i7-3770k default: 12m08 i7-3770k @4.5ghz: 10m02 AMD FX 8350 default: 10m51s AMD FX 8350 @4.5gh: 9m33s

  9. As first, you should try some hotfixs from Autodesk. Anh then, you could try to install the Quadro's driver for your Geforce GtX 670. I have a 5 mil+ polygon file to test : http://www.mediafire.com/?qqoz8pcl9tspb2q Just press play animation and count the time to finish 500 frame: My results with some VGA : Frame per second --> Higher is better
  10. Just upgrade to 3dsmax 2012 or 2013 and you could use the Nitrous driver, don't worries about the VGAs. Whatever they are Quadros, Firepros, Geforce or Radeon. They just work fine with Nitrous driver. A mid range Radeon HD 7850 with 2gb Vram is enough for you.
  11. You can read this review: http://www.behardware.com/articles/880-7/amd-fx-8350-review-is-amd-back.html
  12. AMD FX-8350 rendering review : --> Faster & muchmore cheaper than I7 3770K: http://www.hardware.fr/articles/880-7/rendu-3d-mental-ray-v-ray.html
  13. I think you should wait for AMD FX 8350 for rendernode instead of I7 3770 , just few more days .!! I have some3dsmax's rendering result] for you: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?276245-AMD-quot-Piledriver-quot-refresh-of-Zambezi-info-speculations-test-fans/page34
  14. Not bad at all . I'am using an AMD FX system for my hobby.
  15. I7 2600K/I7 3770K are still better , I can show you some results that I tested before . At the same speed 4.5ghz , I7 2600K render faster than any AMD FX 81xx ~ 10% . Cinebench is not actually like realwold rendering with Vray or mentalray ...
