  1. Choas Group figured it out. Turns out my proxies had switched to have preview from file checked where as they should have preview from file (faces)... regardless of how it happened. I'm happy its solved, Dejan Šparovec I'd recommend you check out your proxies if you use them, since you said you were also getting that fps.
  2. Alright so i have tried it with many more objects, creating new proxies. It would seem it only happens on one tree so far that I create a new proxy of. So... I can replicate the problem, so really not sure why its happening... I'm starting to feel a little crazy.... I used to landscape entire developments with proxies having several hundred proxies. Still have a relatively fluid moving viewport. Iam running a i7 4770k /32gigs ram /2x 660ti's for 3x monitors Here is the scene that replicates the problem I am having ProxyFpsDifference I actually noticed in hindsight the proxys that run ~20 fps(old ones) have only 5k polys not even 10k..
  3. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this. All my scenes with instanced proxies created prior to vray 3.0 run excruciatingly slow. To test this I took a 32 instanced proxies with 10k polys showing. In my viewport, If the proxies where created prior to vray 3.0 Im getting 14fps... Where as if it was created in 3.0 I am getting my regular fps at around 500 fps. Has anyone else experienced this? It happens on all my workstations and slaves. Or is anyone willing to run the same test i did to confirm?
  4. its been bothering me for awhile, and not easily searchable... I use 1-5 to enter the specific subgroup, in editable poly. Pressing the same button again exits it, like a toggle switch. However i seemed to have disabled that somehow and have no idea how to get it back.. anyone know the hotkey re enable it. Thanks,
  5. A troubling issue I've had for quite some time now. I think the image frames the question well enough. Created using a V-ray depth map, how can I fix this issue. it seems to be a question that has come up quite a few times but without a solid clear answer.
  6. i just did one recently http://www.danieldoerksen.com/Drake_C1_dollhouse.jpg
  7. ive noticed recently that there has been a few people saying that vray light portals are not needed, if your scene is setup properly. i just wanted to get a larger opinion on the matter. How many of you are rendering interiors with portals How many of you are rendering without? and how are your render times being affected vs your quality result?
  8. **** move... if you wanna be like that that is fine, but add in advice to help him out. stop being just a ****, theres a fine line between harsh crits and purposely ruining someone's esteem, you crossed it
  9. stumbled across this site may be useful to others. may have been posted before... http://hewilliams.com/catalog/?tab=recessed+fluorescent+(cfl) has downloadable IES profiles of all the lights i assume they sell. but it is a very great source for real world lighting ies profiles
  10. was responding to this part of the sentence very lightly, "if im asked again" you could also removed the google print on the image and the pan tool at top left, also the solar panel sharpness is way better you could blur it alittle to fit in better or blur perimeter to blend it in a bit.
  11. work on the photo itself the vertical walls arnt vertical remove the rubbish on the ground. actually go take a photo dont use google maps.
  12. what falloff does is pretty explanition in the map it self... it changes 2 colors based on a variable you can change... leave the variable on the cameras z axis, then use the same map in the slots with a different level of brightness on each, i use a color correction map to change then brightness in max.
  13. and use a falloff for your diffuse
  14. or you could model the roof? wouldnt take much time at all, 15min tops... is the grass done in post?
