  1. I don't suppose anyone would have a script or know of a way of changing the default of a new vray material so that fresnel is unticked? I never use this and often forget to untick it when creating my materials. Just a small frustration but if anyone knows a hack it would be great. Cheers.
  2. I don't suppose you have a link to the thread? Cheers!
  3. Don't quite understand the whole 1 pixel wide, full height render thing? I have only ever rendered a panoramic using the camera FOV override setting. Cheers.
  4. Not looked at his photos with glasses on but I imagine they work? http://www.stereopanoramas.com/blog/
  5. That does make sense yeah. I have seen it done in real world photography so I am hoping there is some way to do it in vray.....
  6. Hey, I can render a stereoscopic image just fine, as well as a 360 spherical panoramic image. But am finding combining the two very hard. Not even sure if it is possible? I use the VRayStereoscopic helper for the stereo part and it works as it should. But if I change the vray camera setting to spherical with a FOV override of 360 its ignored. As if the stereo helper overrides it. Is there any way to get the two to work together so I can render out a spherical image in stereo? Or is it possible to setup the vray physical camera to render a 360 image without using the vray camera settings in the render dialog? Any ideas? Cheers, J Vray 3.0 3DS Max 2014 Design
  7. Hey SA, Yeah the DOF was done in After Effects using the Frischluft plugin. Find it so easy to use with great results... Cheers, James
  8. Dean - Yeah, pretty busy over here. Just had a few hours free so knocked this image up quickly. Cheers for the comments. I think the cushions on the far sofa look odd as they have pretty large gaps between them. I will widen them to fill them up. How are you? Have you been busy since we last spoke?
  9. Studio/Institution: Self.... Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3ds Max, Vray, Photoshop, After Effects Description: Hey, Thought I would quickly post this image I have been working on for a couple of days for some advice/critiquing. Please fire away and let me know what you think. This is my first time so please be kind...... The Depth of Field is pretty heavy but I am a sucker for this in all the photography I do so thought I would apply it to this image as well. Cheers.
  10. Awesome thanks. Will take a look at this and try the 3DS lights. Cheers!
  11. Hi, No matter what I try I just can't seem to get nice soft shadows off of some vrayIES lights in my interior scene. Here is a region example and the light settings. You will see how sharp and square the shadow is. I have tried everything from different IES files, moving the light source around the scene, trying all different settings for the light. I am stumped. Does anyone have any ideas? My scene is lit by a vray dome light with HDRI but I have not had issues like this before? Any ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers, James
  12. hi, i have a scene with a model of a xmas present that has 2 parts. a lid, and the main box. i am trying to drop this in from the sky so it bounces around a little, settles, and then the lid is blown off as as confetti explodes from the box. i have got it working exactly as i want if the box is one mesh with the lid and box combined, however i want it as 2 parts. So how can i get the lid and box to fall together and bounce around and then seperate into 2 parts that reactor can control? i tried grouping the 2 parts but then reactor doesn't allow you to change the mass properties etc so it obviously doesnt work with groups. any help would be most appreciated as i'm totally stuck on this.... cheers, jb
