  1. Hi There are other threads on this, but none asked this specific question - Assuming the suite workflow is the preferred method of getting my revit model into Max (specifically for the ability to update the model) are Vray modfications preserved in the process? Let's say I have my scene setup and I have material overrides or materials applied to geometry but they are vray materials, will those stay in the shuffle? Thanks
  2. yes, there's an environment map. both the GI and Reflection/refraction are set to bitmaps. why?
  3. thanks Augusto. I thought it might be a light issue too. I tried first turning these thin solids (metal panel) into deeper solids thinking light was bouncing around too much...thought that got it but it didnt. I just tried turning secondary bounces (GI) to 0 and it seems to have solved that part of the problem...is there a better way to achieve this? see higher res image of problem
  4. I am attempting a night rendering and I am encountering something I've never seen before - vray for sketchup is generating halo shaped splotches on an exterior opaque surface. they have a strong resemblance to blood cellls. No idea what's going on and searching for vray blood cells isn't working either any advice is truly appreciated
  5. I used to be able to load vray for rhino 4 into the rhino 5 wip beta allowing normal vray rendering in the beta version. I can't for the life of me remember how were doing it - I've googled and come up with nothing. Does anyone know how to do this?
  6. Hi, I've never had trouble with exporting from rhino to MAX but recently I started using blocks in rhino pretty heavily and I would really love to be able to preserve their structure of being instance of one another. But they are indivdual, unique objects when I bring them in. I've tried many settings, in both 4 and 5...perhaps this isnt even possible?
  7. travis's suggestion worked. thanks! anyone use finaltoon with psd manager? know how to get the toon lines on their own layer?
  8. is there a way to get vray render elements without using the VFB? I have a plugin - psd manager - that can't use vray's buffer window and yet it's supposed to manage vray's render elements. The psd's it produces do not have the render elements. When I try to render to the normal max buffer with vray's render elements on max gives me an error "error creating file"...what gives?
