  1. There's a link I included in my previous post. There's also a free plugin to auto render the scene to AO. I can't find it in my bookmark...
  2. yes. the more core u have the faster the render time. if u can, please maximise ur RAM also. use performance ram - (kingston HyperX 4Gb x 4 = RM 4++) i think that brand is the most cheapest n reliable one. If the Ram is sufficent enough, u can still do a post-production work on PS while u are rendering. That will save u more time! Good luck.

ps: u can also overclock the processor if u are use to it, but as well u must invest in some good cooling system.

  3. Yeah, I always have this kind of problem. In 3dsMax the image looks fine, but in Ps, it gets darker. When I print it, it gets even darker. Is it better to brighten things up in Ps, or render it back again with more lighting? The globe lamps turns out to be in that color due to post edit. I'll post a better one after I fix stuffs. I used AutoCAD for the structure modelling. For the window panels, you are right, or perhaps worse: I forgot to apply smooth groups. Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to do something with the book covers, it is a pain to make it. But, well, no pain no gain. =D Thanks for the C&C!
  4. I wonder, what settings do you guys use as your final render? What resolution do you guys often render in the final pass? V-ray produce very nice renders, but it all comes to the settings in the final render to create a real art. I did some searching and I found these: 1. http://www.cgarena.com/freestuff/tutorials/max/studiolighting/index4.html 2. cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/autodesk-3ds-max/modelling-rendering-an-interior-scene-using-3ds-max-and-vray-day-2/ 3. http://www.jamesshaw.co.nz/blog/?p=138 4. http://vray.us/vray_tutorials/universal_vray_15_settings.shtml 5. http://forums.cgarchitect.com/64120-questions-professionals-final-rendering-settings-print-vray.html What do you guys think? If it's not too much I hope you guys can share some tips or settings over this. Or perhaps some useful links. I hope I can list down some good info, and probably help others.
  5. Is the window glass supposed to be like that or it is supposed to be transparent?
  6. I think having a AO pass can help improve the image.
  7. Studio/Institution: Personal Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3ds Max 2010 + Vray 2 + Photoshop CS4 Description: First time trying to post-edit, with AO pass. C&C are welcomed.
  8. Various reason, but I don't regret it. IMHO both is hard, and has different constraint. ID/IA deals with people a lot and people equals to trouble. Architecture deals with a whole lot of things at once, which is also trouble lol.
  9. Yup. You are correct on the failed recognition. I think there's something wrong with the image. I'm in Diploma in Interior Architecture. Was an architecture student. Haha
  10. I'm currently using X4 925, but thinking to upgrade to X6 1100T. What do you think of that processor (1100T)? Will RAM have an effect to render time?

  11. Yes, enlightening indeed. I'll keep this in mind when doing my next exercise, hwne the time comes, I hope you can check if I get it right?. Hehe~ =D Thanks by the way.
  12. Thanks for the reply, love your work. If I may, can I know the spec of your workstation? I'm planning to buy one.

  13. I turn on depth of field, I think that's the main cause of the blur. But to what you mention, by right, if I want to do a large final render I need to have a large resolution of textures, yes? The center court, is well, supposed to be sands in Japanese Zen Garden style. But as I mentioned in the first post, I lack the skills to make it. I am currently at UiTM Sri Iskandar. I assume you are working?
  14. Thanks for the tips. I'll take note of that. =D
  15. Wow, does this stills come from a n animation? I mean, you guys used Ae... Or does Ae can be used in still scenes as well?
