  1. Hi all!!!! I want to buy a laptop to work in 3ds Max 2012 (I know a Desktop always is better and I have a good one). I want it mostly for drawing 'cause for rendering I can use my desktop. The question is that in a range of prices below 2.500$ (preferably below 2.000$) I found these laptops: I appreciate any constructive comment or suggestion for other laptops. Thanks!!!!!
  2. Hi to everyone!!!!! I have an object with 6 UVW Unwrap modifiers and the 6 A&D (mental ray) respective materials connected to a Multi/Sub Object. I want add more Unwrapping materials, but when I try to show in the viewport the seventh material, 3ds Max shuts down. I cannot show more than 6 of these materials in the viewport:mad:. I've tried the following solutions (none works): -Changing the A&D Material for Standard. -Checking other diferents maps. -Making the maps size smaller and changing the format (from TIF to JPG). -Applying these materials and modifiers to another different Edit poly. -Changing the Unwrap modifier to UVW Map. -I've change the render engine from MR to VRay and the material to VrayMtl and I've been able to render the object, but the materials haven't shown in the viewport. -..... and others attempts which I don't remember..... I use 3ds Max Design 2012. Any idea to solve it???????? Thank you for your answers!!!!!!!
  3. Oooooooooooookay!!!!!!! Thank you Dean!!!!!!!!!! Now I know what I did wrongly. I only selected the edge to chamfer, not the other two edges that make the loop. Thank you man, you're the best!!!!!!!!
  4. Hi Dean!!!! I've tried to do what you have suggested, and this is the result. If I don't remove the edges connected to the edge above, the chamfer is straight, not curve. I'm using 3ds Max 2011. Thanks for your reply!!!!

  6. Hi everyone!!! When I chamfer an edge of a edit poly appears a polygon in the hole. I get solve it breaking the vertex and removing the vertex which are incorrect connected, but is a very hard task and takes a lot of time. Anyone knows how can I avoid this problem from the begining?????? Thanks!!!!!!
  7. Hi Dean!!!! The Exposure control was disabled... but, I've found the problem. In the Global Lighting tab, the Ambient color swatch must be in black (I have it in white). Thanks for your interest!!!!
  8. Hi!!! I'm trying to render an AO image with 3ds max Design 2011 and mr, but appears entirely white. I've disabled FG, GI, Caustics and Exposure Control. I've deleted all lights and envronment map. I've applied an overried material with a Standard material and pure white diffuse color and a Ambient/Reflective Occlusion map in the Self-Illumination with 32 samples and max distance 45cm. When I try to render, the image is entirely white. Anyone knows the problem? Thanks!!!!!
  9. Hi!!! Firstly, sorry for my English because I'm form Spain and I'dont speak (write) English very well. Ok, I have a problem when I create an object from a shape "Crate Shape" of an Edit Poly. I extrude it, I make it edit poly, and so, but the problem is that this object has the gizmo and cover box (the box surronding the object) aligned to the main object that was created from. And the question is: How can I align the gizmo and the cover box to the new object? I attach an image. Thank's to everyone!!!!!!
