1. Hi guys, I am looking at doing an animation which will require me to create detail trees blowing in the wind. the usual onyx and treestorm are not the way i want to go as it need to be super realistic. does anyione have any ideas what would be the best software to use? i think maybe 'unreal engine' might be a good option but is there a better one? thanks in advance. Gareth
2. ive got it working. i needed to use distibuted rendering but i couldnt get the spawner o activate but all i needed to do was o run as administrator. thanks for the help Gareth
3. i want to use the computers in the renderfarm. i know by using back burner you can send the files to the network but i want to use the computes from the renderfarm to help render the image (using all compputers to render one image)
4. Rendering an image using other proccessors from other computers. I have just recently started up working for a company and my boss has asked me to set up a small render farm. So with using backburner i have managed to connect the compters together. there is only 3 computers working as a farm but my boss also wants me to "render an image using 6 processors" (2 from each computer) anyone know how to do this? G
5. yeah thats what i was thinking. it might be the only way to find the right balance.
6. yeah i know thats why im running around in circles one result looks god and the other that looked good is now not so good. anyway thanks for the help stef.
7. the reason the frensel is so high was to get a more brighter and intense look of the clouds and sky cause without it the glass looks really dull
8. acctually the reflections are too strong and not seeing enough inside. starting to look too much like a mirror. where do you rekon to put the fall off? in the refraction slot?
9. stef just been trying it out and looks much more like what i want thanks mate!!!
10. Hi stef. im good thanks hows u?. its all hands on the pump over here mate. i have a frensel reflection on and ior is set to 4 the diffuce colour is a grey blue, reflection is 150 and refraction is about 255 (so will change that.) when you say change the diffuse colour to 40 do you mean 40 grey? or blue?
11. I have a glass material and want to see shadows on the glass. But for some reason i cant seem to get any. I think I have the right balance between reflective and refractive but i dont see any shadows casting on the glass. does anyone have any ideas why? thanks Gareth
12. so i should try and get my hands on SP5. will this help?
13. Im trying to create a nice cloud reflection but cant seem to get the correct relationship between nice reflections and correct other materials. ie walls etc in one option i used a cloud texture in the environment map in the glass texture to try and create a nice effect but its too dark. in the other option i created a sphere object around the whole scene and applied the same cloud texture but when i get close to the effect i want, all the other materials that have a reflection on it are also affected. option one is with environment map in glass material option two is with the sphere object but affects the whole scene im not sure what im doing to be honest i dont know how to get the best result. this is a view front the front where i want to see the clouds alot more any ideas?
