1. Does anyone knows what happened to Greenlayers.com? it's been offline for quite a while and it was a really good site, a great resource for green screen people... Are they out of bussiness or something?
2. Sounds like Reactor/Collisions corruption to me Check this thread, maybe it helps: http://forums.cgarchitect.com/37632-max-generates-huge-scenes-700-mb-no-complex-geometry-heeeelp-please-2.html Perhaps that should be a sticky thread, since many people have that problem
3. Sounds like a corrupt file. Check this thread, maybe it helps: http://forums.cgarchitect.com/37632-max-generates-huge-scenes-700-mb-no-complex-geometry-heeeelp-please-2.html
4. There is a Bookfiller script at: http://www.scriptattack.com/. Recently I used it for a library image and works ok
5. You could try a cellular map, with a low spread value and you may get something like this:
6. That's true only when you have fresnel reflections
7. It looks quite nice, but I think that the size of the waves is out of proportion, they are huge and thats probably affecting the caustics too...
8. Here's a good tutorial that shows how to rig an accordeon door: http://area.autodesk.com/tutorials/animation_and_rigging_techniques_for_architecture_visualization (step 4 IK chains)
9. This one is pretty good: http://www.free3dtutorials.com/animation/3d-max/the-box-tutorial.php Hope it helps
10. You can do a flat cornice, and bend it (bend modifier)
11. Convert the poly to an editable mesh and select the "explode" function, it has an angle threshold so you can especify when the faces will be separated.
12. What version of Max are you using? You could try these scripts from autodesk, which apparently solved the size problem: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=10078426&linkID=9241177 http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=10377296&linkID=9241177
13. Maybe your model is far far away from the 0,0,0 origin in CAD, that used to generate jaggies edges in max
14. There are a few in turbosquid, and the price seems reasonable: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-football-player-model/304239 http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/349235 http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/308264(this one looks really good) http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/302978 Hope it helps... best luck
