1. Hi there, I just want to ask if it is possible and easy to control, illumination calculations done with vray. I was looking for something that could calculate real values of "LUX" or other type of values used by lightning designers? Thanks
2. Hi, I am trying to deal with one doubt about gamma settings while using vray 2.4 and max 2014 and maybe you guys can answer it. Below are my gamma settings that I normally use (LW). When using bitmaps on vray materials, should we load the bitmaps and leave as "automatic" or shall we place an override of 2.2? Thanks.
3. Thanks Chris, this is really helpful, a lot of good tips and techniques. I can see that maybe with some contours taken from Cad and then trying to use those modeling commands to add a little more detail can do the trick and end up with a good smooth and precise surface.
4. Thanks for all the tips, those are really nice plugins. I was just wondering how to properly use those "edge loops", can someone give some pointers on that?
5. Hi there and thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking if someone has some way of creating a mesh like that but starting with a more formal existing ground information, maybe cad lines or something like contours and then create a mesh surface that can represent it quite precise. I've seen something about NURBS...
6. Hello, Does anyone has a good way of creating a terrain surface that is smooth and organic but defined by precise points and lines, something that you can control the heights rather well? I normally use contours with the "terrain" mesh to recreate a terrain and then use the "conform" command with a plain so it adjust itself to the original terrain giving a more smoother look, but in this case the idea is to make a square paved area (concrete) with a organic shape, higher and lower areas. I am a little overwhelmed right now so any good pointers would be really nice. If you think about it, it something that can be used to design a skate park for example. Check the images bellow so you can understand what I mean. The first I have taken it from the web and it is actually from a project that exists, but I have no idea how to do that. I know that that mesh is really precise because I have been on that site.
7. Studio/Institution: Freelance Genre: Landscaping Software: 3ds max 2009, vray Website: http://www.sergiomaximo.com Description: Hello everyone, This will be my first post in the Forum, so I am actually working on my spare time in a project that I´ve recently seen, the "Villa Hesthagen" but with a new concept. Anyway this is working out in a project training for several other commercial projects. I´ve been trying a new snow plugin and my newest acquisitions, some Peter Guthrie hdri (worth every penny). I am having some difficulties with the snow on the ground, and the result with the illumination. Please give me your opinions and what I could do better. Thanks
8. Greetings to all the community, my name is Sérgio from Portugal, I am a Landscape Architect with a great professional and personal interest in all graphic design software´s that are normally used in the architectural area. My special interest goes to 3ds max and vray, that for some time I´m trying to master which has been a really struggle. So I hope to learn from all of you and share my limited knowledge.
