  1. Studio/Institution: Personal office Genre: Other Software: 3ds Max Description: Hey guys! I was truly bored and really impressed after watching The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. I looked around and found no 3D model available of Rivendell, Free or for sale. This once scene quite caught my eye, so I thought I'd try modeling, so here it is, my first modeling steps (: Attached also are the reference picture from the movie I used. Thanks for your comments and critics.
  2. if u mean to give it a video-gamish 3D Epic aspect, uve done a very nice job!! as for realistic and real aspect, its sure not it great work man! keep going
  3. nothing to say bout the quality of the work... it really looks like a picture take and not a render... as for the bathtub looking plastic, or wood too reflective, many kind of woods and plastics exist, so it can be taken or not... just one question... why is there a mirror next to the toilet ^.^ ... lol ?
  4. the plant is kind of better this time, i echo StanZ, the towel can use some improvement, and i must disagree with JCM. the toilet is like THE thing that gives it some more realistic aspect... maybe show it abit more, or push it abit back keep going
  5. the floor, the walls and the ceilling are really great and real, those are gd, just the things i mentioned before, and it will be perfect
  6. some modification to the ground/light, am and will always be open for comments... actually its why am posting here
  7. i love it man, its a well done work, the wood/brick (duno wat that is), is well done, it looks real enough... just one minor thing...the texture of the wall, not too clear of wat it is... if u could just make it abit clearer... and as for the architecture/location thing, id go for a mountain/forest thing, with a nice few on the back of the house (the face we dont see on this pic) well done man!
  8. hey man! am gna go abit for negative critics... the texture is really bad.. bad as in it looks really really fake, no displacement/bump (dunno if u applied any, but none is clear on this render). the pic is too bright, u should work on the light/dark thing, and u really should rework the texture of the stone... how did u do the grass? its aint really bad, but u can do much easier with just a click or two. BUT i love the architecture sry if the Critic was abit harsh
  9. i love it well done on the wine bottle, maybe its a bit too dark or smthng ? duno ... oh, one thing... the glass where the liquid is poured, its a bit... too refractive... maybe some more simple transparency ? really great work, specially on the light bouncing on the box
  10. i must say, first sigh really really looks real, well done a detail or two that gives u up... the plant in the corner ? it really looks fake/3D.... and the wood thing on the right, is doubty... and its too clean, considering the many dirt on the floor... if u could reduce abit the dirt, and i duno.... the wood it doubty.... oh and one last thing... the faucet, or watever u call it, the thing that throws water, it looks really 3d. but its really an impressive WIP, well done
  11. go tell ur d* lebanease boss, to get both a life AND a different kind of taste -.- those kind of houses are prehistorical themes -.- as for the 3d: red/pinky foliage in front of the house, not so realistic, same with the glass and sky... ur composition isnt 'homogenous', its not like one pic, its like several parts, several places... and if u could create some kind of difference in the stone walls gd work
  12. the sky is an enviromment map, and the bitmap is on of the default ones that comes installed with 3DMAX 2009 so ye and its stretched... i think i should have applied it on a background plane with its original size the ground, ive used a plugin named Autograss... i gave it a try on a 1mx1m, it rendered really fast. came to apply it on this, render needed not less then 20 minutes of 99% CPU usage, time i cannot afford... the wireframe is just to cover the lack of the ground tho i really loved the wireframe car effect thx for the comment
  13. the map on the stairs i think is a bit too big... same on the stone next to it.... and the grass in front of the institue really needs some more bumps/displacement, cz it really looks like a flat green floor... love the architecture
  14. very nice indeed the reflection on the glass is really great, tho gives it a 3D, not sooo realistic aspect... the water is a bit too much disturbed... but the whole pic is very nice thumbs up
