  1. Yea 10 an hour is un-acceptable!! Especially you being in LA which is a crazy market. However, I look at places such as steelblue which is located in the California market and it gives me hope that with the right business plan, a great product, and the economic vitality of a boomiing city such as San Fran/ The Bay area...working in a larger firm is the way to go imo.
  2. Hi Robert M. While I don't necessarily disagree with the things you've said...I am curious as to where you are and if you have any examples of your work?
  3. I agree with Chris. Don't be afraid to over expose. The color correction and highlight burn tool in the vray frame buffer are your friends. Some people use color mapping Reinhard and then adjust the burn value. But that's not the correct way so forget I mentioned that he he. PG skies has some good overcast if your looking to buy HDRI.. feel free to post any works that you have for better critique...
  4. Hey Everybody, just wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions as to how to duplicate this effect with camera settings in one rendering if possible. I have a small bedroom with a single point of light illuminating the room... I simply want to emphasize the effect of the single point of light coming into the room without over exposing the rest of the room. see example of what i'm aiming for.
  5. Maybe up your max depth on your reflection? Let us know if you found a solution?
  6. looks good! Nit picky stuff but i think the floor texture reads a little to rough and the texture feels stretched and separate from the bump.
  7. Very nice images! I particularly like the detail in the windows...is that all custom modeling? also how did you achieve the background/skyline. Did you use individual images or did you map a cylinder with a panorama? The exposure/blownout feeling of the environment looks great btw! I always struggle with that
  8. Thanks for the reply. Attached is a screen capture. The sphere on the right is a vray light material. the one on left is sphere light visible. Let me know if you see any glaring mistakes?! pun intended
  9. Is your light temperature set to 200? That will give you red results even though it doesn't appear red in the small preview box below. Try 3500 is typically deep orange up to 9000 is deep blue. I typically never go outside of that range.
  10. Hello all. The issue im having is just as title says. I can get the bloom to appear on effect channel but for some reason the light glare never works. Has anybody else experienced this or have any suggestions. Both are checked on in the vfb but glare never seems to show. Thanks!

  12. Thanks, More so looking to create it myself...without paying.
  13. Greetings all. Im working on a project in which a disco ball will be located in the middle of the scene.. does anybody have suggestions on how to create the disco ball and the effect of light bouncing around the room? I'm not having very much luck...any comments or suggestions are appreciated.
